About this list:

Regardless of your political affiliation (or lack thereof), the success of the Obama campaign has demonstrated that grass roots activism - the intellectual input of everyday people - is incredibly powerful. I hope that we keep this marvelous momentum moving forward, with projects directed and developed by people of any age and every background. My goal ? To make a list to encourage, motivate and applaud those who aspire to improve the lives of individuals, communities, and/or the world.

The Victoria and Albert Museum's website offers a thorough introduction to the topic, including interviews with designers and links to websites of organizations committed to making "ethical fashion" more than just a buzz word.
