About this list:

I hope that we keep this marvelous momentum moving forward, with projects directed and developed by people of any age and every background. My goal ? To make a list to encourage, motivate and applaud those who aspire to improve the lives of individuals, communities, and/or the world.

The New York Times: You're Welcome America - Will Ferrell - Cort Theatre - Through March 15, 2009

First to recommend

Description

I'll leave the reviews to the critics, but, suffice to say, Will Ferrell does a scarily apt portrait of George W. Bush. And he dares us to keep a straight face when he unfurls a stage-size portrait of a, um, body part. At least our national sense of humor is intact . . .

A positive twist on one of my grandmother's favorite adages (Laugh, and the world laughs with you. Cry, and you cry alone), this website enables you to both laugh, cry and plan your way through this economic crisis.

Amazon: The Complete Guide to Lincoln Cents by David W. Lange

First to recommend

Description

It is quite poetic that a man who came from such humble origins has his visage reproduced on such a large scale but in the most meager denomination: the penny. And what a wonderful gift it is to any eager collector, from a young child to a seasoned numismatic, that a penny collection can be so readily established. This book, while a grand review of various vintages of Lincoln cents, also provides a biography of the great man himself. Happy Birthday, Mr. President !
