YOJIMBO

2 people recommended this item

Description

This is must-have software for the Mac. It lets you store and organize PDFs, notes, password and serial numbers, tag them and run full-text searches on them. Simple? Very. Yet Yojimbo is a pleasure to use, and with its Mail-like interface, it does everything you need quickly and elegantly. I use it to store receipts (finally, an unencumbered paperless office!), archive temporary web pages, keep track of deadlines, and save my ideas.

Apple wireless Mighty Mouse

16 people recommended this item

Description

The bluetooth Mighty Mouse takes some getting used to, but once you do, you'll never want to use anything else. Its simple, portable design includes a great scroll-ball and a precise laser mechanism that works on any surface. And it's the most energy-efficient wireless mouse I've seen.

SuperDuper!

First to recommend

Description

SuperDuper! makes backing up your Mac easy. Just grab an external hard drive, fire up the program, and watch it go. It's free! But if you're backing up often (as you should), then I recommend the paid version: It lets you copy only what's changed since the last time you made a backup.

Scrivener

First to recommend

Description

This is the best writing software out there for the Mac. No, it won't replace Word, but it will complement it, with features like easy storyboarding, notes and keywords, a full-screen "distraction-blocking" mode and a versioning system that prevents you from having to compulsively hit "save," Scrivener is one very slick app.

Journler is a terrific piece of free software for recording your everyday thoughts and observations. You can tag each day's entry and then easily search through them in the future. It's simple, easy-to-use, and surprisingly essential.

iKlear

Description

This is the recommended screen cleaner for Apple products. It works quite well, and comes in attractive packaging. I'm not sure if it's the most cost-effective solution, though.
