Abeego - Collection

First to recommend

Description

These wraps are natural alternatives to plastic wrap for a number of applications.

They are made of hemp and cotton, infused with beeswax; are pliable and reuseable.

I'm going to give them a try. (via Abeego)

MSR Flex 4 System Cookset

2 people recommended this item

Description

In my never-ending quest for multi-purpose home items, these caught my eye.

This set is designed for campers and includes pots with strainer lids, deep dish plates, and mugs.

However, as a starter set for a small apartment, this could be just the thing! (via REI)

Floating - Large

First to recommend

Description

While this item's name is rather enigmatic, it is a beautiful piece that could be a vase or a habitat for a small fish or two. It's also lovely as a piece of sculpture.

It's a candidate for inclusion in my "home of the furture"!

It is from a Swedish company called PID (Personal Interior Design). (via PID)

Silicone travel bottles - Set of two

2 people recommended this item

Description

I like the way these look. They're designed to be filled with shampoo, conditioner or lotion that you use at home so you can take them with you when you travel. They hold 2.0 oz. which is the amount allowed by the TSA for airline travel, so you won't have your shampoo confiscated. (via canoe online)

Fresh Herb Pot

Description

This is a great way to keep herbs fresh, green and useful.

Herbs go in the top of the two piece pot and water goes in the bottom and can be changed frequently. It's on my wish list. (via A Plus R)

Outward Hound Quick-Release Dog Backpack - Jackets

First to recommend

Description

One of the tasks my assistance dog sometimes performs for me is to carry things. After trying a number of other backpacks for my assistance dog, I settled on this one and am quite happy with it. It is sturdy, well made and has a larger capacity than some others I have tried, without being too bulky.

It allows one to remove the backpack section and replace it without undoing the whole harness. This is presumably for backpackers who want to retrieve something from the pack, reorganize it or just to give the dog a break during rest stops but have the ease of getting back on the trail with less muss & fuss.

I use the feature in similar fashion in more urban surroundings; when we're out for the day and there are times when he doesn't need to be actively carrying whatever we've loaded into the bag. (via ppe pet supplies)

Iris Air-Tight Food Storage Container - 60 Quart

First to recommend

Description

It might not be glamorous but I think it is a perfect blend of form and function. I'm planning on buying this to hold the 40 lb. bags of dog food that we need to buy every month.

The price is minimal too. (via amazon.com)

Prepara Herb-Savor

30 people recommended this item

Description

The best chefs know that it is all about using fresh herbs. But how are you supposed to keep them? Instead of that plastic bag, these plastic herb savers keep the stems in water, and then have a protective shield for the leaves. A great idea, or a good gift for the iron chefs in your life. (stocking stuffer?)

Chikuno Cube

5 people recommended this item

Description

This is an elegant concept, the look is simplicity itself. There is no reason that it shouldn't work. The price is a bit steep if you're in need of more than one or two, but I guess that if you try it and like it, you can add more over time and they are renewable.
