I gave this to my mom for mother's day and then borrowed it as soon as she was done. Really interesting book that has some suprising twists and is well-written. I got sucked into the story after the first page (thats how you know a book is a good one!)

I think this is required reading. Follow two kids that run away from home and end up living in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, learn to be self-sufficient and even solve a mystery along the way. One of my personal favorites growing up.

Jane Austen is unsurpassed in her ability to write satire. My favorite comedy bit is Mr. Collins' love for Lizzie. When the world gets me down, I always come back to P&P. I've probably read it 50 times.

What if you picked up a book that was an instruction manual on how to be a wizard? And what if everything it said actually worked? Well..then you'd be living in this story. Written for kids but really enjoyable for all ages.

The best way I can sum this up is Oceans 11 and Gangs of New York set in a fantasy world. This book got me hooked and I'm eagerly awaiting the next installment.

Description
I'm suprised by how many people haven't read this series - I thought it was something that everyone was required to read at some point or another. Regardless, remedy the situation and buy a copy if you haven't already. Written by one of America's true pioneers, get an idea of what it was like out in the frontier.

I like to give this to people to introduce them to science fiction. It might not be exactly your taste but it should stir your interest and get you wanting to try more.

I grew up on these books - just a quick glance at the pictures sends me right back to Kindegarten. Great book to give to the kid in your life.

Anne of Green Gables

Description
There is a reason so many people love this book - because the main character, Anne Shirley, is one of the best written characters of modern time. This book should be required reading for all elementary school kids.
