Griptex Comfort Art Bath and Spa Pillow, Vanilla

Description

Why are bathtubs so hard? After all as places to relax, one would think they would be designed to be as comfortable as possible. Alas, my stiff neck did not agree, and I set out on the arduous task of finding the perfect bath pillow. I rested my trusty head on vinyl pillows that were heart shaped and cylindrical and balloonish blow ups. I vibrated my head until it was numb and bombarded it with nature sounds. But none of the pillows stayed attached to the tub, most slid down under my back and/or just were uncomfortable.

Turns out that simplicity is bliss. This pillow is about three inches thick and is filled with a soft spongy foam that melds around the rim of my tub. My neck and the back of my head are supported and happy. The outer layer is almost like the small bubble wrap but made of soft rubber. Sort of like those shower sandals with the stimulating massage bumps, but softer. I can read for an hour in the tub and be very comfy. My baths just got longer! (via amazon)

L'Artisan Parfumeur Pour des Prunes Scented French Candle

First to recommend

Description

I warned you about my current candle fetish (don't worry it will soon be over - I switch to other home fragrance methods in the spring and summer!) But hey - fragrance is the quickest way to create a spa atomosphere. And this L'Artisan Candle is one of the uniquest scents ever. Don't let the prune name fool you - (don't tell anyone the name until they smell it - my bf refused to smell it after he saw the name though now he is won over.)

It reminds me of burnt red wine (don't ask how I know, let's just say I'm a bad cook) or a walk through some fiery vineyards? Now that would be a travesty! Pour des Prunes translates to "Sugar Plum". Whatever - it's a perfect scent to burn at a wine tasting or during a dinner for two. Though these seem pricey, since you don't have to light the candle to enjoy the aroma (typical of strongly scented French lines), it will last longer than a candle of poorer quality.

And the nose isn't the only thing indulged by L'Artisan Candles. The creamy natural wax, fluffy cotton wick, you feel ten times richer just opening the box and fondling the frosted glass gold emblazoned jar.

SpaTime: Once you blow out a candle, let it cool a few mins. then dip your finger into the wax and put a thin layer on your cuticles. Let dry and peel off.

Manuel Canovas Brun D'Or French Scented Candle

Description

All of Manuel Canovas' candles are brilliant! First you don't even have to light them to enjoy the fragrance, but when you do they have a great throw. The fragrances are floral blends all inspired by Manuel's love of gardens. The jar is very elegant with a gold lid to keep the candle free of dust. Brun D'Or is my fave because it is vanilla with orange flower and myrrh, just enough spice too keep it from being overly sweet. PS: Totally dig his fashion fabrics too -

Bombay Duck Amelie Tulle Shower Cap

First to recommend

Description

Protect your curls girls! My addiction to steamy hot bubble baths frizzed my hair. So I began the search for the perfect shower cap. Most were too small, pinched my forehead, left a freaky red line across my face, were plastic and made me hot (and not in a good way). Then I found this little bathing beauty in the UK - those English Roses know their baths ; )

They are too cute with a satin ribbon bow, embroidered sayings that release your inner sex kitten like: Scrub a Dub, Love the Do, Hot & Steamy and Wet & Wild. Made of two breathable layers, one black thicker net with pink or blue tulle layered over top. (think tutu for your head!) They are cool, comfy and very light to wear & roomy enough to fit over my hair even when I'm trying to protect an updo (and I have superlong Bardotesque hair). Best of all, no pinched forehead.

I wear mine so much I had to buy a few. Like when I'm doing a face mask or washing my face, protecting my 'do from the dreaded slumbering bedhead, taking a bath or shower, doing my makeup and I even take it to the spa. If your hair is a bit dry, try putting a little leave in conditioner on, like a fekkai glossing cream, and take a hot bath - your hair will thank you. They retail for $18 and make great gifts - especially "shower" ones. Gotta run, all this has made me crave a .......bath! Spa wishes, Candace

Brassage Bra

First to recommend

Description

It's a bra! It's a bustier! It's Healthy?!? That's right ladies (and gentleman if you really wanna go there :)) - get ready to be wowed - a bra that is good for you. First chocolate, now this - the world's getting better all the time. The nitty gritty: These bras were designed by a doctor and a lingerie designer who wanted to create underwear that benefitted the wearer.

True to form, these bras are organic cotton, latex free and include these amazing massaging bumps on the side under your armpit. Coincidentally, that's where the infamous lymph gland resides - and these bumps massage these glands as you move - improving circulation and encouraging a daily detox.

This is the most comfortable bra I own. The bumps are like firm marshmellows and you feel them, but not in a bad way. Plus, they are imperceptible under your clothes. Stupendous for doing pilates or yoga too as the bumps massage more. (Not supportive enough for aerobic sports though :( I actually miss them when I wear another bra.

Comptoir Sud Pacifique Vanille Abricot French Scented Candle

First to recommend

Description

I am so into fragrancing my home right now - plus candles add warmth on these cold and snowy days, BRRR! Comptoir Sud Pacifique has delicious perfumes and candles - mostly vanilla based. The vanilla is so vivid and real, you don't even have to burn the candle to enjoy the smell of lightly fruity vanilla. Vanille Abricot is the best fragrance, but Coeur de Vahine and Vanille Passion are also winners. When I wear their Vanille perfume, folks will say "What smells like cotton candy?" It's me! Just a word of warning, it might make you hungry!
