About this list:

So I've been away from ThisNext for a month or two. Busy, busy, busy. And I have discovered something important: while ending a 13 year marriage is not fun, shopping to get over it most certainly is. So with that in mind, I'm going to share some of my favorite finds with all of you in the hope that you, too, find comfort with your credit cards...

Qualifications:

Umm... divorced. And shopaholic.

FANCY : Text Ring

2 people recommended this item

Description

With this ring, I thee shed......

Life doesn't always go as planned. (She says, while reaching over to take a sip of a giant martini that is being used to medicate the memory of the last few months.....).

Might as well have some fun with the bumps.

I bought this for myself because, well, because why the hell not! And I LOVE IT!!!

You can choose either a matte or mirror finish and best of all- not only can you order the text shown here, but you can actually submit your OWN words for engraving as well. Cool, cool, cool.

"Better to have loved and lost than to live with a psycho" Plaque

Description

I love this because it made me laugh out loud when I first saw it. And it still makes me laugh now that I look at it on my wall.

I also bought the "Put on a little lipstick. You'll be fine." plaque and include it in "divorce gift baskets" when the occasion arises. Always a hit.

GIANTmicrobes | Venereals

First to recommend

Description

Um ok... for the record, NOT something I encountered in my own divorce. BUT for those of you who have had messier break-ups, here's a "cute" way to inject some laughter into a sticky situation.

GIANTmicrobes also offers plush animals for anything from mad cow disease to the flu. Pretty funny, IMO.

Available both as a single plush and as a set of tiny microbes in a petri dish. HA.

life takes... word bar

First to recommend

2 people recommended this item

Description

This four sided word bar is a reminder that “life takes: dreaming, doing, giving...” “...listening, kindness, playing, others…” “...love, laughter, learning...” and “...courage, confidence, work, risk, focus”.

So true. But they forgot "martinis."

Divorce Ring by D Jewelry Co.

Description

I love the idea behind this. Available in a few different finishes and price ranges.

From an article about the product:
"The design is simple: a thick gold band with a break in the center and three bands of white gold on one side. One band for the year you met your ex. One band for the year you married. One band for the year of the divorce."

If you're on the fence and want to do a little CSI: Marriage sleuthing, see if he'll stick this on his noggin and answer a few questions about that lipstick stain on his collar...

Anything that comes with this warning equals FUN in my book:
Warning: This is not a child's toy. People with pacemakers, heart problems, or epilepsy should not use this product!
