Rectangular Removable Bottom Tart Pan
First to recommend
Description
Want to make gorgeous tarts and quiches that don't look like everything else on the buffet table? Then this rectangular tart pan is for you! The removable bottom makes it easy to get the tart out of the pan and the fluted edges leave it looking elegant, even if you used store-bought pastry.

Silicone Spoonula

Description
I couldn't live without my Williams-Sonoma silicone spoonula. I use it nearly everyday and have it for more than four years now and it is still perfect. These are a little more expensive than the ones from Target, but they last so much longer.

Zyliss Susi DeLuxe Garlic Press

Garlic makes your food taste better. A press makes it easier to cook with garlic. For me, it's a no-brainer.

Russell Harrington Bread Knife
First to recommend
Description
A bread knife is good for slicing tomatoes, summer fruits, sandwiches and cakes, making it incredibly useful. This one isn't gorgeous but is cheap, dependable and durable, making it a great gift for someone who doesn't care how things look but values how they work.

Description
This one matches the bread knife I just mentioned and is another terrific, workhorse piece. It is tough and durable (but should never be run through the dishwasher).

This little skillet is a great size, especially for eggs, grilled or a couple of chicken breasts. As an added bonus, it's really cheap on amazon right now.

I bought this stock pot about five years ago and I use it all the time. It's one of my favorite pieces and it still looks fairly new. You don't have to spend a ton of money to get something useful!

You can do just about anything on these baking sheets: bake cookies, roast a chicken, bake brownies or whip up a batch of homemade granola. They are versatile and impossible to destroy (and they come in sets of two, so if you do happen to burn one, there's always a second in reserve).

12-Inch Standard French Whip

Description
There is nothing better than a good whisk (and nothing more frustrating than a bad one). This french-shaped one is great for blending dry ingredients together, making sauces or incorporating batters.
