About this list:
Just some of the many movies I enjoy. I keep forgetting to tag movies I recommend under this. So, it's not complete by any means.
Bottle Rocket (Criterion Collection) by Wes Anderson
First to recommend
Description
The film that catapulted Wes Anderson's (and Owen Wilson) career as a serious filmmaker. In my opinion, the Criterion release is entirely too late. Better late than never, I guess. Just like other cc releases, it's got lots of extras. What's the kicker though? It's got the original black and white short shot in 1992.

It's a true story, kind of. Essentially this film explores Charlie Kaufman's head when h was commissioned to write a screenplay for "The Orchid Thief." Given, the guy is completely crazy to it's quite a wild ride.

"I want us to be completely open and say yes to everything, even if it's shocking and painful." This is just the type of sharp witted dark comedy you can expect from Wes Andesoon and his newest film. Not to mention, it stars Adrian Brody and the second good movie he's ever been in (the first being The Pianist). It also stars Owen Wilson, pre suicide attempt and, the always amazing, Jason Schwartzman.

The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou (The Criterion Collection)

Description
The 4th film by Wes Anderson. I'll be honest, it's certainly not my favorite. However, it might be the most interesting/ ridiculous. Certainly worth checking out and definitely worth owning the criterion collection if you're an Anderson fan.

Harold and Maude

Description
My single favorite movie of all time. For me, it set the groundwork for all of the dark/ quirky comedies we all know and love now. Harold, a dryly depressed nobody falls in love with Maude, a dysfunctional free spirit five times his age. This is their adventure and it's a wild one.

If you haven't seen this film, stop what you're doing immediately, find the closest Best Buy, purchase it, watch it and have your life transformed. I may sound over dramatic, but I really love this movie and I think you will too. The Criterion Collection features beaucoups of extras. So, get excited.

Non-sequiter.
If I had to choose one word to describe this film, that would be it. It is the more irreverant, bizarre, hysterically funny film I've ever seen. If you're a Monty Python fan, you will definitely love this. Plus the music was done by Craig Wedren. How can you go wrong?!

The awe inspiring story of Philippe Petit, a French hire-wire artist, and his journey to tightrope across the twin towers. Petit, the personification of courage and drive, truly makes you believe you can do anything.

Tommy Boy

Description
Absolutely classic. Back in a time when David Spade was still funny. Back when we were still blessed with the comedy of Chris Farley. Back when comedic plots were much more simple and charming. Back in the 90's this movie owned and it still does.
