About this list:

We all struggle to express ourselves, to be heard and, more importantly, to be understood. It's human. It's universal. Particularly in my lifetime, the humble tee shirt has become a way to personalize our message. More recently, it's become a way to support a cause or proclaim our affiliations. Fighting Aids in Africa. Professing our undying love for a particular band. Battling against bigotry. Reviving the art of Andy Warhol. We all seem to know the language of the tee.

Qualifications:

I own at least a hundred tees, all somehow expressing me.

Cherokee Word Tees

Description

I don't speak, read or write the Cherokee language but I do love the intricate characters of the language's alphabet. They are a design element, in and of, themselves. Each one of the tees in the collection, however, does have a more explicit message to share: love (white), peace (blue) and strength (green). Striking in their simplicity, you may find yourself sharing a given word over and over again when you wear one of these tees.

A project started in 1990 and inspired by the writings of Donella Meadows, "The Miniature Earth Project" strives to help us all understand the true nature of the earth we populate. For example, out of 100 world citizens, approximately 8 are North American, 14 are illiterate and 9 are disabled. Born in Boston, I will always consider it my hometown. Even though I never lived within the city limits, I have a visceral connection to the people, the sports teams and the history of the place. In fact, the "Boston Tea Party" is the event that inspired the name of tee shirt list.

Lucky Brand Jeans: Tokyo Rhapsody Ringer T-Shirt

I love the quality of Lucky Brand t-shirts. They are so soft and have a wonderful already-been-broken-in feeling about them. But what I love even more are the graphic designs that they introduce anew each season. This is my current favorite. (Subject to change without notice.)
