b. happybags

Description

The problem with those re-useable shopping bags is that most of them are straight ugly. Look, we love Mother Earth, but the nasty, rough raw canvas of most eco-bags had us wishing for something a little more fun. Thankfully, B. Happybags has come to save the day with their collection of 18+ bags with wild prints, colorful patterns and washable materials. These bags also double as a nice beach tote for just $20!

Description

Vena Cava is amazing with its gently waspy, yet completely downtown looks.
Each season of this young label just keeps getting better and better, as the duo (Lisa Maycock and Sophie Buhai) grow more comfortable with their brand, and design ethos

These two are also Gen Art alums. Gosh... we know how to pick 'em, eh?
Love their very "TRUE" Bohemian/late 60s looks in their Fall 2006 collection pictured above.

Margarita Saplala

First to recommend

Description

Ah, who doesn't love a good t-shirt? Margarita Saplala's got the right idea with her line of high styled women's tees. Women have always been cutting up their boyfriend's t-shirts to create totally new creations. Spalala has a little of that in her creative cuts and twisted, shaped necklines or backs. Prints are slightly akin to street wear creating a beautiful, seamless DIY look. Saplala also offer tops that have not been altered. However, these two stand out for the various off the wall embellishments and prints.

She's going to be a star. We're putting cash money on it.

OCTOPI

First to recommend

4 people recommended this item

Description

Fashion label Octopi is made of up two graduates from RISD - Sarah Welsh and Madeline Davy. The pair have created seriously fabulous summer looks with like their cotton double strap tank top and pleated mini-skirt in a soft cream. It's easy, breezy with a touch of class you just can't find in the jumpers that everyone else is pushing this season.

Octopi is a Gen Art fashion alum and boy, we're proud of them now that they're rockstars on the fashion scene with their au courant fall collection with their perfectly slouchy beige pants and a pair of black high waist-ers that have us feeling very Katherine Hepburn.

Lerario Beatriz

Description

Ana Beatriz is the mastermind behind fashion label Beatriz Lerario and its breezy, cool summertime looks. We thank heavens that Ana decided to end her four year stint at Marc Jacobs to branch out on her own considering that her collection looks ready-to-wander. Think: country roads in Connecticut or if you're lucky, the French countryside and a bottle of wine. The shorts are just the right length to be sexy, yet casual. The sweaters? Heavy enough to combat an ocean breeze with just a touch of Brazilian-style detailing to make you stand out amongst the stars. Beatriz Lerario is sold nationwide. Check her site for stockists.

Description

Ladies, it's all about Loeffler Randall who have created the perfect shoe assortment for the modern woman. The line is extremely feminine. No matter your choice, you'll feel just like the princess you are. The line offers distinctive footwear from five-inch heels to stark leather boots that'll have everyone taking notice. It's easy to slip on the same old shoes, but it's the shoes that definitely make the man or ahem, woman.

Lynne Larson

First to recommend

Description

Lynne Larson cut her design teeth by working for the amazing Daryl K and superb Katayone Adeli before setting off to do her own thing. The lady has a way with fabrics. Lynne's clothes aren't about following the trends or crazy cuts. Her garments are well-designed in soft colors with details stolen from vintage clothes. From perfectly tailored coats to sweaters that cascade around the body, Larson is creating sex appeal out of simplicity.

Our favorites of her fall collection include the oversized brown cashmere sweater, the heather leather jacket and the truly classy pintcuk jersey blouse. Check her stores list for an online shop or retailer new you.

The line has a revamped Jane Austen aura – edgy elegance, no? Get an item from this Gen Art alum and it will surely become a staple of your wardrobe.
