Description

Another in the Smoke series for Moooi by Maarten Baas. This chair is more obviously burnt than the rest, and actually looks like it might fall apart.

Phoenix Serving Tray By D.L. & Co.

First to recommend

Description

This fab tray makes a dramatic statement in black and mother of pearl.

made entirely by hand using techniques that date back over 800 years. the creation of each piece involves the utmost patience and artistry. with an astonishing technical master, each accomplished craftsman devotes between 6 to 8 weeks to complete a marvelously individual work of art. each piece of mother-of-pearl, which may be only on millimeter thick, is precisely hand-cut, hand sanded and then carefully inlaid by hand.

the phoenix is a universal symbol of the sun, rebirth, resurrection and immortality. this legendary “fire bird” was believed to die in its self-made flames periodically then rise again out of its ashes.
