Treasure Rings

First to recommend

Description

Treasure Rings are a bit gimmicky perhaps but also completely unique. The ring is customized with an inscription on the inside. Each ring is made to the exact finger on which it is to be worn. You select the style, inscriptions, and gems set in a band of gold or platinum. Each one is hand-engraved and only 2000 are made each year. The flip-open style means that the band ends up being wider than most rings but the space inside offers double the usual space for engraving so you have plenty of room for freedom of expression. Prices vary according to gems and materials used.

Santa Maria Novella, Russian Soap for Men

First to recommend

Description

These days it seems like every new company wants to bring out a line of men's products to capitalize on the metrosexual phenomenon. That's not the case with Santa Maria Novella, these soaps have a long history. They come from one of the world's oldest pharmacies, the Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella in Florence, which has been open since 1612. The products were originally developed by friars. Their soaps are still hand-molded, hand-wrapped and aged for sixty days and are crafted using a natural milk-based formula. (via Luxist)

Pollaro Handmade Furniture

First to recommend

Description

Pollaro will make the custom furniture of your dreams. The process starts with a design consultation about the style, function and color of the piece. Then they work up conceptual drawings, until they have created your ideal vision. The furniture is handmade and so the entire process can take six months to create the custom cabinet or chair of your dreams. Pollaro also makes reproductions of furniture created by designer Jacques Emile Ruhlmann and other Art Deco luminaries and their design sense is closely allied with that era. They specialize in marquetry, veneers, inlays and the use of rare materials including exotic woods and abalone. (via Luxist)

Caran d'Ache 1001 Nights Pen

First to recommend

3 people recommended this item

Description

As a child, I had a set of Caran d'Arche colored pencils that I adored. The company also makes writing instruments that adults love to get their hands on. The 2004 limited edition fountain pen from Caran d'Ache is called Mille et Une Nuits (1001 nights) and is meant to represent the exoticness of the Orient. It is deep blue with vermeil Arabic calligraphy. It is limited to 1001 pieces (of course) and is the work of Swiss goldsmith and jeweler Edouard Jud. Caran d'Ache is Switzerland's only manufacturer of pencils, fine arts products and writing instruments and has been in business since 1924. (via Luxist)

Maker's Mark Cigars

First to recommend

Description

I've spent a lot of time in Kentucky and drank more than my share of Maker's Mark bourbon so these cigars immediately caught my attention. These cigars are in the Dominican Republic and seasoned with Maker's Mark without soaking the tobacco in whiskey. The Toro cigars are sealed in a glass tube and dipped in red wax like the Marker's Mark bottle. (via Luxist)

Nambé Lounge Chip & Dip

First to recommend

Description

If you are throwing a party this season, this tray would be a welcome addition to your table. It's a chip and dip tray manages to be laid-back and elegant at the same time. The curve of the tray mimics that of a chaise and the hollow for the sauce is wide enough to encourage liberal dipping. (via Luxist)

De Milo Design--Letterpress Thank You Notes

First to recommend

Description

Thank you notes are an old-fashioned etiquette ritual but a gorgeous letterpress thank you note lets the recipient know that you really appreciated their gift and they'll think kindly of you the next time the holidays roll around. At least that's my theory. These De Milo Design cards can be customized in a color of your choosing and with your return address to make the whole process a little easier and more fun. (via Luxist)
