It's that time again! Winter coat shopping is tough, especially if you're short and too much fabric can take over your whole outfit. This houndstooth coat by Peoples Market really accentuates smaller height and creates a very 50's Hollywood silhouette. Would look killer with dark tights and pumps.

This one has been stuck in my head for a while. This wide collared winter coat creates a perfect silhouette when buttoned up. It looks really thick and warm, and the sleeves are slightly cropped which is a big plus. Very English house wife.

This killer coat encompasses just about every AW09 trend there is. The length is perfect, the fabric itself is a shiny, dark gray blended color that gives off the menswear vibe, and the collar is extremely reminiscent of the relaxed, ruffley neckline on this falls soft leather jackets. A black panel of contrasting fabric runs up the inside of the arm and down the side of the body, which creates a slimmer silhouette and something extra to look at. The multiple cascading seams down the back add to overall appeal. The price is great, it looks amazing, and would be a perfect transitional jacket for everyday use.

This is my favorite coat of the season, hands down. Preen crafted this gorgeous black and white herringbone alpaca fabric to accentuate the shoulders (so in right now!) and play down the lapel/neckline. The cropped sleeve length is made complete with a length of leather to finish it out and warm you up. If you see a faux leather/faux alpaca version, I'll probably be inside of it.
