My beauty regimen - a list by roguedesigns

About this list:

I'm not the girliest of girls, but I've definitely become more so as I've gotten older. I love to get glam sometimes, but most of the time I'm too lazy to even wash my face. This is the list of girly beauty products I use - whether I'm sticking with lipgloss and blush, or going full on false eyelashed out.

Body Splash in Exotic Coconut

First to recommend

Description

I think coconut is the smell of summer. Like yummy Hawaiian Tropic suntan lotion, or pina colada Lifesavers, or that John Frieda seaspray hair texturizing stuff that they discontinued and broke my heart. . . . .this type of coconut scent instantly plunks me down on the tranquil tropical beach I keep in my mental happy place.

The coconut lime verbena scent is really nice too.

L'Oreal Paris Couleur Experte and Feria

First to recommend

Description

I don't know if I've ever told you this, but I can be kind of cheap. I blow my money on ridiculous craft items, or another pair of shoes, and cringe at having to shell out for things like hair color. $150?! For dye? Forget that noise, I'm fairly competent - I can do it my damnself.
And do it my damnself I do. And wallow in compliments. From my hairdresser even. I love this stuff. It's ALMOST foolproof, but if you're not comfortable painting on the highlights, enlist the help of a friend. My stepmom has me come over and do hers for her.
I was really excited about the new applicator, but I don't think I like it as much as the little mascara wand one.
When I'm feeling kind of lazy or want to go with a rich chocolatey brunette shade, I opt for Feria - the colors are amazing and rich and tend to pick up the highlights and lowlights already in your hair. A potential drawback - this color seems to lift like nobody's business. Good for me as it gradually brings me back to my natural color for the most part (no roots!) and everyone keeps thinking I've done something different with my hair, bad for you if that's not what you want.

Olivina Napa Valley

Description

Once upon a time I stayed at the gorgeous Meadowood resort in California wine country, and was gifted with a little bag of treats.
One of those treats was the most delectable bar of soap these nostrils have ever happened upon.
As with most great love affairs, ours was torn asunder when I left it under the sink at a boyfriend's after a breakup.
I dream of it still, and fantasize about finding it once again. Alas, for the longest time, I could see the logo in my head, but not the name, WHAT WAS THE NAME?
And then I stumbled across it in a magazine, and my heart stopped and flew up into my throat and I shed a little tear of joy and now here we are.
I'll be damned if I can tell you which one it was exactly, but you can be sure I'm on my way over to Stephen Young at the Gift Center to find out.
I'll keep you posted.

Clarins 'Delicious' Self-Tanning Cream

7 people recommended this item

Description

This looks good enough to eat, but it is a scrumptious treat for your skin instead. I'm always a little wary of self-tanning products, but this one is great - I like the fact that it is tinted, allowing you to easily see if you have even coverage. The tan appears in a few hours - mine legs haven't seen the sun this year, but they now look nicely bronzed. Not too dark, just the right amount. You do still need to be careful around knees and ankles (or dry areas that soak up a lot of the lotion) to prevent darker spots, but that's pretty easy to do since the cream goes on tinted.

I am particularly impressed with the deep moisturizing effect - my skin hasn't felt this smooth and soft in a long time.

I'll definitely buy this again.

I always think of Sinful nail colors as the cheapo drugstore brand, guaranteed to be thin and streaky or immediately get lumpy and gross. But!
I have found a color that I adore, even if it is insanely confusing.
The bottle has it printed as "timbleberry" although it's "thimbleberry" on the website. On the sinful site, it looks like the color I love. I did a web search and found a shot of someone wearing the color I'm referring to. And yet? Every other reference I see is a completely different color - either a corally pink or a red. I have no idea what is up with this color, but if you can find the deep, sparkly wine version of T(h)imbleberry, GET IT.

I'm not so great at makeup, but I LOVE to go crazy with the eyes. For most events, I'd be fine wearing a standard black dress with kookoo eye makeup. Panacea81 is a fast talking, fast applying makeup mastah.
Watch and learn ladies.

I just found Lincoln Park At Midnight last night and I think I'm in love. Deep deep purple, with just a little bit of glittery sparkle. I'm ogling it at my desk and wondering if it's really that inappropriate to paint my nails in the office.

Ooooh, fun. It comes in several colors too (red, green, purple, gold. . . ). This is my favorite though. I am certain I will never be able to apply it properly, which is probably why it holds as much draw as it does.

I have this fascination with green eye shadow. I love green. I love love love green eyeshadow.
But, I have green eyes. I go into stores and harass the makeup counter employees, trying to get them to tell me green eye shadow is a good idea for me. They don't. This makes me sad.
All of you out there that don't have green eyes OWE IT to yourselves to wear it.
