What a fantastic idea for geeky and slovenly teens and tots. If your kids are into the fantastical, and decidedly NOT into chores, this could be just the thing. I tried to get my roommate to do it, but it seems she's not as geeky as I am. Sucks, because I created a pretty kickass character.

Yeah, I'm pretty much obsessed with the idea of making awesomely creative things that people can't live without. The boyfriend found this site looking for a vendor that could make some of our more intricate design dreams come true. We met up with them at the Maker Faire this year, and they're not just shipping from New Zealand any more!! I think the guy said they have a US base in Pleasanton or something.
The long and short of it is this: design something you want to be laser cut, send it to the nice folks over at Ponoko, they'll do the work and ship a nice new object to you (or your customers). Neato.
