Amenity Cove Organic Cotton Duvet Cover - Cream & Moss

First to recommend

4 people recommended this item

Description

Some may say that the first day of spring was March 20, 2008, but I think the arrival of Amenity’s new 2008 bedding, pillow and print collections truly mark the official turn of the seasons. Take the Amenity Cove Organic Cotton duvet cover in cream and moss…can’t you just smell the scent of a freshly cut lawn and see flowers blooming on all the trees? This makes my mouth quench for a tall glass of lemonade as I listen to song birds out the window. Sensory overload, but I love it. (via design public)

looolo Janthur Cushions

First to recommend

2 people recommended this item

Description

I am an absolute sucker for textured textiles so looolo’s pillows and blankets are right up my alley. Why have plain, even pillows when you can find one with a bed of tightly packed ruffles? Or rows of perfectly placed tabs? Or interesting bumps directly down the center? Her pillows encourage touch rather than simply something pleasant to look at.

What’s more…how many pillows can you think of that can be safely composted? ? I don’t think I have ever uttered that phrase before in my life. Joanna Notkin considered every environmental aspect possible when designing her pieces so they leave as little an imprint on our earth as possible. There are no zippers or other non-biodegradable closures on the cushions, the wool yarns and fabric are all organic, the pillows are stuffed with Indonesian kapok (a fiber from the Ceiba tree seed pod), and the dyes are free of toxic chemicals. If only more things in this world would have a similar claim. If only. (via Design Public)

DwellStudio Hedgerow in Saffron Duvet and Cases

Description

With DwellStudio’s new line of botanical and garden prints I feel like I am transported into a wonderful French garden…somewhat like what you find at the Palace of Versailles. Imagine the wild thicket (i.e. DwellStudio’s Hedgerow duvets in Saffron or Persimmons) among and the maze like structure of the manicured lawn (i.e. DwellStudio’s Maze or Aerial pillows), throw in a splash of butterflies (DwellStudio Thicket pillow or duvet) and you are as close to this magical place as you can get without the plane ride and jet lag. Area Alma Heather Grey blanket

First to recommend

2 people recommended this item

Description

I think Area is more prepared for the fall and winter than I am. Granted, it is currently still in the 70’s in San Francisco and we could all probably pull off summer attire for the next month or two, but when stormy weather attacks you must be prepared. And that, my friends, is where Area is ready. They have a fantastic assortment of blanket and throw options to add to your bed or sofa. The Alma blanket has always been a crowd pleaser and is now offered in a handsome Heather Grey. If you need more color, consider the Thinner Olive & Stone Throw (my favorite), the Sixteen Burgundy & Stone Throw, the Quarter Orange & Stone Throw, or perhaps one of the more subtle yet sophisticated Oliver or Harry Blankets. Now is as good a time as any to get your warm on. Find the Area blanket that suites your warming needs (via Design Public)

Area Mist Charcoal Organic Bedding

First to recommend

Description

Thanks to Area’s newest bedding pieces, I just now came up with my New Year’s resolution (only 42 days late!): only purchase organic bedding (in addition to other environmental changes). I am sure a number of people resolved to make this idea a reality months or years ago. I just needed a little more time to come around and realize the impact organic bedding can have not only in my bedroom but environmentally as well. Do I really want to sleep for 8 hours under something full of chemicals? Nope, I don’t believe so. Do I want to support the organic farmers who employ environmentally friendly farming methods? Why, yes! Combine the clean and simple Area designs with the organic option and I can see myself drifting off into a dream world right now. (via Design Public)

Inhabit Soak in Amber duvets & shams

First to recommend

Description

Modern design typically invokes a sense of sleek, clean, and, let's face it, pristine, untouchable coolness. Inhabit bedding - while thoroughly modern - bring coziness, individuality, and warmth to the mix. (via Design Public)

Area Night Navy duvets & shams

First to recommend

Description

Area's new fall collection includes some really incredible duvets, shams, and bed accessories. The Night Navy and Day White lines create an amazing calming aesthetic with their beautiful simplicity, but they are not too simple, oh no. The woven pattern adds just enough character to the pieces without going overboard. (via Design Public)

As if DwellStudio hadn’t done enough with their DwellStudio Baby collection, the new DwellStudio Junior sets are a delightful compilation for any growing youngster. The color schemes are stellar, the patterns are imaginative, and the possibilities in how you can use the pieces to make your child’s room their own are endless. (via Design Public)

Unison Martin Rectangular Pillow

First to recommend

Description

Unison has just added a few new pillow color options to their Track, Martin, and Roll lines that take on a more natural, neutral tone (khaki, graphite and stone). I have always been very partial to pillows that are not your typical size or shape. The only tricky part in using lots of different sized pillows is keeping the pillow pile simple and not overly cluttered. Thank goodness Robert Segal and Alicia Rosauer are minimalists at heart and have created pillows that help to tackle this headache. (via Design Public)
