About this list:

Rosh HaShana is the Jewish New Year - you may have heard of the apple-and-honey tradition, but there's also the eating and decorating of pomegranates and fish, for fertility (yes, yes) and good luck.

Qualifications:

I love me some pomegranates!

Star of David (Phonetic Hebrew Clock)

First to recommend

Description

If there's something like "favourite Etsy senior", then Arty is mine. He's 81 years old, a real New Yorker and Brooklyn native, and he builds wall clocks. Correction: he builds incredibly creative wall clocks.
If you're lucky you could see him and his clocks at a New Yorker craft fair this October.

I like this clock, because instead of numbers it has phonetic Yiddish spelling. This one goes clockwise, but Arty also makes the same model counting hours counter-clockwise.

Brooke Marton | Black Cherry Earrings

First to recommend

Description

Bloodred garnets an coppery pink-red - it's a hot combination, what more to say? These earrings had "pomegranate" forerunners, but they are still very pomegranatey to me. For $17, you'll get a piece of exquisite taste and a great sense of colour combinations - who could miss out on that? Certainly not you!

brooklyn street soap co. | Pomegranate Fig

First to recommend

Description

I have a soft spot for cube soaps...that's why I buy French handmade soaps from Marseille. This one, though, comes from across the big pond, from Portland.

This soap is a "creamy blend of jojoba oil and goats milk is great for the skin." They combined pomegranates and fig for this, which is a truly aromatic blend. No more dull morning shower moments, and a nice idea to wish someone a happy new year. It's all about happiness, isn't it?

jorgensenstudio | Majolica Pomegranate Pendant

First to recommend

Description

From the raw terracotta clay, through to sanding, firing, painting, glazing and then making the bezel from scratch -- this pendant is entirely handmade by its designer. You can sense the love that went into this piece.
For $38, including a beautiful 16" sterling silver chain, this is a piece of art which is affordable and which you would be sorry to not buy!
