Altered Books - The International Society of Altered Book Artists (ISABA)
First to recommend
Description
The International Society of Altered Book Artists is a non-profit Organization dedicated to promoting altered books as an art form. As the Society's website explains, an altered book is "any book, old or new that has been recycled by creative means into a work of art. They can be ... rebound, painted, cut, burned, folded, added to, collaged in, gold-leafed, rubber stamped, drilled or otherwise adorned." Membership costs $35 a year and entitles you to copies of the Society's bi-annual publication, inclusion in the members' gallery, and access to the password-protected members' area of the site, which features all sorts of goodies.

Who says that stickers and stamps are just for kids? People who love paper know otherwise. I have the Alphabet Stamps (shown on Cavallini's site) and they are really fun and versatile. I use them on greeting cards, envelopes, and when journalling.

Loomis Art Store
First to recommend
Description
If you are addicted to paper, ultra-chic office supplies, drawing supplies, notebooks (Moleskines, etc.), art and writing portfolios, and pretty much anything else to do with art/writing, this store will overload your senses and your imagination. The first time I visited a Loomis Store (the big outlet store in Mississauga) I spent two hours (and more money than I'm prepared to admit) loading up on one-of-a-kind items that I had to have. (Yes, it's an addiction, but I don't know where to get help for my paper and office supply problem.) The store carries stuff for kids and adults (my eight year old is as addicted as I am, so we go off to get our "fix" together a couple of times a year. In betweeen in-person shopping trips, I order online. I'm a pretty hardcore case.

Description
Monica Moody is an extraordinarily talented artist. She's also a very cool person who is eager to share her love of art -- and the terrific art-world resources she's come across over the years -- with other people. I could spend hours exploring Monica's website and following all the amazing links. In fact, I already have. Maybe you'll enjoy peeking into Monica World, too.
