Wanderlust Survival - a list by corrosiveheart

About this list:
This is a comprehensive list of survival products (and ideas!) for the busy traveller that faces every day challenges of hassles, hunger, and boredom. Even if you're taking your first flight or extended trip, you'll want to consider these items! (I've slept in airport terminals, been laid over for over 12 hours, and have taken 14+ hour train rides before I spent another 20 hours in the air or airports. I've lived out of a bag, slept in odd and soggy places, and have survived hunger in quite unique ways.)
Qualifications:
I'm an experienced world traveller - no doubt!

Jordan Go Travel Toothbrush and Toothpaste

Description
This Jordan toothbrush is genius! Incredibly compact and functional makes it perfect for long or short trips. There's no need to bring along extra toothpaste or a small and cheap travel toothbrush (which I have found to irritate my gums) when you've got this cute 2-in-1 brush.

High Sierra ATQ Carry-on Wheeled Backpack
First to recommend
Description
There are two reasons why I love this: colour and High Sierra. I have carried High Sierra bags with me throughout highschool, university, and have used them as carry-on for 75% of my global travels and they have never let me down. The quality, the styles, its lightweight form, and the function and versatility of this bag are what makes this one of my top recommendations.

Diane Von Furstenberg Scallop 21 Expandable Rolling Upright

Description
Ahhhhh there's something so sexy about this suitcase. The petrolesque blue and the stunning pattern and lines are too irresistable. I usually opt for function over form when travelling, but this is one of my exceptions.

Samsonite TSA Sized Bottles and Clear Bag
First to recommend
Description
As a mother of two little ones under the age of two and someone that has travelled through too many international airports to count, travelling with liquids is probably a must considering how many accidents and unexpected situations can arise. Unfortunate as it is (despite it being for our own safety) regulations amongst several international airports have varying sizes of items and liquid items you can carry. Luckily with this travel pack the sizes are small enough to meet the guidelines, but are also large enough to hold what you might need. This set includes 4 clear bottles and a resealable clear bag making it easier for identification .

Samsonite Travel Sentry Locking Luggage Strap
First to recommend
Description
I never thought we would have needed one of these until 2 years ago when we had a terrible incident happen with someone that was travelling with us. Needless to say, tiny locks can be broken and a combo lock is an extra measure to take if you're worried about the security of your bags. This lightweight luggage strap from Samsonite includes a triple-dial locking buckle, adjust to fit bags up to 72", a special identification mark alerting the TSA that they can open it-without destroying it-if inspection is necessary, a special TSA code, and if cosemetically necessary comes in several colours for easy identification.

Built NY Laptop Sleeve 15
First to recommend
2 people recommended this item
Description
This is a standard sized laptop sleeve with maximum protection!
"The idea for this product was born when a Built customer-desperate to create a laptop sleeve of his own-ripped out the middle seam of the Built two bottle tote. Composed of extra-thick durable neoprene, it cushions and protects your laptop for maximum protection and safely slides in and out of your briefcase or luggage with ease. Perfect for business travelers and urban nomads alike. Best of all, slide it in and as it conforms to the size of your computer, its unique bone shape creates an instant built-in bumper system for extra protection. Its Shark Gill Grips on the sides makes gripping and handling slip-free." (via ebags.com)
