Lent: 40 Days of Not So Much Fun - a list by FancyPants
Options for This Page
About this list:
I'm a lifelong Catholic... which means I'm not a very good one. I've given up giving things up for Lent that (to me at least) are pretty pointless... chocolate, candy, sodas, booze... Mostly, I resolve to give up making excuses for not doing the things that make myself and the people around me happy. Spending more time with my family, my dogs and my boyfriend... donating more money to charity, being a good boss and a good colleague... you know, that stuff...

Clocky!
48 people recommended this item
Description
I would like a clock that could go around my bedroom when I don't want to wake up. Which comes to happen everyday. So, besides of looking "futuristic", this alarm clock can roll around to really make you wake up. It has the option of disabling the wheels so you can have a normal clock. It also indicates if the battery is low so you can replace them. (via MoMA Store)

Savin' to Quit My Job Tin Bank

It's not that I hate my job- I just enjoy writing for ThisNext much more...
Actually, the point of this recommendation is to remember to save more of my hard-earned bank. This way I can actually buy a pair of Christian Loos... or a smoothie.

Double strap fitness and yoga top by Fit Couture

Description
My list is turning into an after-the-fact New Year's Resolutions list...
I like going to the gym... I HATE getting ready to go to the gym. Finding a pair of matching socks, a cute (but not too cute) outfit, shaving your legs, a ponytail holder, the right shoes, a water bottle, iPod.......
This top is really pretty- I like the double straps and the color... not sure if I would get any street cred when I am trying to lift heavy weights with the guys but perfect for an afterwork Spin Class.

Description
In March of last year I adopted Jack + Jill. They were furry littermates that instantly bonded with me and loved eachother... naturally I couldn't separate a family so I brought them both home. They are now 50 and 45 pounds, full of energy and generally in love with life... at times that drives me to tears as I pick up pieces of chewed up shoe or get dragged down the street, or clean dog hair from my suit... but my life is so much better with them in it.
Besides who else would I make grilled cheese sandwiches for? Or share my Cheetos? Or order Happy Meals for? Or let sleep (read: takle over) in the bed?
On their "adopt-aversary" we are going back to the shelter to donate money to sick pups and hope that they find homes where they can eat cheese products and go to Day Care.
