Table Topper Disposable Adhesive Placemats for Baby

Description

Ever eaten in a truck stop on Christmas day? Well, I have. Yes, it sucked. And thank God I had these with me. These disposable placemats are THE. BEST. INVENTION. EVER.

Put them in the wish-I'd-thought-of-it-first catagory of greatness. They protect the wee ones from dirt and germs (truck stop, need I say more?) and then you just pull 'em up, wrap the garbage in 'em, and toss. I keep one or two in my diaper bag AT ALL TIMES.

Kiddy Guard

First to recommend

Description

Our new house is like so many others built recently - the stairs are impossible to gate. The banisters are narrow and tne opening is too wide.

When we moved from our 1909 Colonial (with normal doors) to a modern house, we were stumped. Than along came Kiddy Guard. Viola! Instant gate. One very nice perk of using this gate is that you can keep it open when baby is asleep and close it like a window shade when they get up.

I give these FOUR STARS for safety and ease of use.

Kellogg Rice Crispies T

First to recommend

Description

My MIL bought this for my baby girl, and as nuts as I think it is to pay $50 for a kid's T-shirt, this one is super-cute. If I'm not buyin', what the heck! Seriously, my girlie is 2 and this shirt is a size 4. She can wear it for at least a year.

Plus, I'm s sucker for graphic Ts. Normally I'd never recommend this, but for all you Aspen-visitng, crazy-shopping grammas out there, you should take this under advisement.

Classical Baby

First to recommend

Description

This wonderful DVD set is made up of animated music, art and dance shorts that introduce youngsters to all the classics. My daughter loves these and when they end she imperiously demands, "More baybee! More baybeeee, Mommmmyyyy?"

They are great for winding down and quiet time. Well worth the price for three discs.

chamois crib sheeting

First to recommend

Description

When my daughter felt this sheet under her little legs she stroked it and cooed, "cooozy and waaarrm." I'm not making that up. Yes, she is a genius.

Genius aside, these are wonderful. Soft and cozy, indeed. The baby's room is the coldest room in the house but this sheet helps keep her warm at night. I also love the saturated colors available. No nambly-pambly pastels need apply.

Hold me back! Someone call bankruptcy court and set my date! J. Crew is making kids' clothing. My husband is gonna freak when he sees the credit card bill. I can hardly get enough J. Crew for me. Now I can get the best clothes ever for her? Hurray!

Old Navy PJs

First to recommend

Description

Old Navy has been a staple in my girl's wardrobe from the start. I call them her "disposable clothes" - and I mean that in the nicest possible way. Durable and affordable, ON is a longtime fave. This season the PJs are soooo soft and the prints are way cute, too. I bought her one of each in her size. These jammies will make pre-bed snuggle time even better.

Zutano Baby Basics

First to recommend

Description

If your kid is anything like mine, most of her food goes on her clothes. Zutano clothing is soft, adorable and VERY washable. My girl wore some new and some hand-me-downs that looked like new. These are cute without being cutesy, and they are sweet without being girlie. The colors will stay vibrant. I promise you'll love this line.

Petit Bateau Cami

First to recommend

Description

It gets cold in our neck of the woods, but I hate to put my girl in a bunch of bulky sweatshirts. Slip her into one of these cami bodysuits under her T and she's good to go. These are soft and they last forever - my daughter wore some that were new and some that belonged to her cousin. Get at least four because once you try them you won't want to wait for the laundry to be done.

Oswald DVDs

First to recommend

Description

I was that mom who said her kid would never watch TV. HA! I love Oswald, and so does my daughter. This cartoon is quiet, relaxing and it isn't unbearable for adults. Oswald has been a soothing part of our bedtime routine since the girl was an infant. I highly recommend both of these DVDs.
