Remote-check Wireless Thermometer
2 people recommended this item
Description
You can't roast a turkey and base it on the "recommended" time for cooking. The only reliable way of knowing when you're turkey is done is with a thermometer. This one lets you check temperature on two things at once (in case you have to make two turkeys), and also has a remote control so you don't HAVE to babysit the bird in the kitchen all day long.

Weber Style 2008 Carving and Serving Board
First to recommend
Description
Any old carving board won't work for your turkey is you roasted the turkey right - it's JUICY. The Weber Carving Board has a "well" where you can stabilize the bird, and grooves for catching the juices that run out when you carve it.

OXO Fat Separator
3 people recommended this item
Description
If you separate fat from the turkey drippings the way Mom does it - let the fat harden overnight in the fridge then lift off that 3-inch thick layer in the morning - you'll be having gravy a day late. The fat separator does it on the spot, and measure, to boot.

All-Clad Stainless Flat Whisk
First to recommend
Description
If you go the way of making gravy directly in the roasting pan over the stovetop, then you need the Cuisinart Flat Whisk to 1) scrape up the browned bits from the bottom and 2) whisk the flour or cornstarch into the hot liquid to thicken the gravy.

Cuisinart Chef's Classic Stainless Stockpot
First to recommend
Description
There's nothing better than throwing what's left of that roast turkey - the carcass - into a giant stockpot with vegetables and simmering all the flavor out of the bones, skin, and fat into a deep, rich, flavorful broth that you can freeze and use to make amazing soups all through winter. You need a giant stockpot for something as large as a turkey.

Description
OXO makes great products that are more efficient and arm friendly, I can easily tire out my hands and arms with some tools. A sieve helps with taking the clumps out of flour and other powdery substances.

When you have a hundred thousand different things happening at once in the kitchen, you'll be thankful when your cutting boards remember FOR you that you prepped the turkey on the yellow board and chopped vegetables for the salad on the green board.

Bambu 13" Tasting Spoon
First to recommend
Description
I had no idea there was a specific spoon just for tasting whatever it is you're simmering away in the pot. This one is made from 100% organic bamboo so you don't have to feel bad when you're sticking it down in your Roasted Butternut Squash Soup.
