Izzy Stradlin & the Ju Ju Hounds

Description
The smartest thing Izzy ever did was leave Guns and Roses (who died for me the day he left). He was the heart and fucking soul of GnR. Sure, Slash is a good guitarist, but his playing does not have the bluesy soul that Izzy's does. This is the first CD that Izzy did after leaving GnR. It still holds up to this day and just sounds amazing. Does Izzy love Keith Richards and the Faces? Sure he does!! Are those influences apparent on this disc? Sure they are, which is part of why I love it. It also doesn't hurt (and adds street cred) that Ian McLagan plays keyboards on this disc and Ronnie Wood himself takes up background vocals and guitar on Izzy's wonderful cover of his own Take a Look at The Guy. Izzy also does a great cover of Pressure Drop. Hell, the entire CD is great start to finish. Get this CD and see why I could really give a crap and why you shouldn't either when the much rumored new GnR (minus Izzy of course) CD Chinese Democracy comes out! ;-)

Let The Music Do The Talking - The Joe Perry Project

Description
Joe Perry is one of my guitar idols. During his absence from Aerosmith in the late 70's/early 80's he released a few solo albums. This was his first one and I just adore it. None of the singers he had on the various albums are as good as Steven Tyler, but hey, this is not Aerosmith. It's the Joe Perry Project, and this is all about Joe and the guitars. He really does let the music do the talking. If you were ever in doubt of his guitar god status, check this out and see how he can stand on his own and shred!

Primal Scream - Riot City Blues Tour

Description
Riot City Blues was my absolute favorite CD of last year. It got Primal Scream back to its junky glam sound that I absolutely adore. And, let's face it, Bobby Gillespie is smokin' hot! Also, how can you not help but love a man who allegedly accused Coldplay of being boring. This DVD is not out until Oct. 9. That doesn't mean you can't pre-order!! I've already ordered mine, how about you?

Shake Your Money Maker The Black Crowes
First to recommend
Description
What an amazing debut album! People love to yammer on and on about Appetite for Destruction. Hey, don't get my wrong, it was amazing, but not the only amazing debut album that ever was. While Shake Your Money Maker might not be groundbreaking (although it sort of was in spandex and grunge filled 1990) it is down and dirty sexy rock at its best. To me its Jimmy Miller era Stones meets the Faces (my two favs.). What is not to love!? Every song is great and I do not skip a track (and trust me for me that is rare as I have the attention span of the turnip at times). If you don't have this classic, don't you think its about time that you rectify that?!

I have recently rediscovered this amazing CD and it's all I have been listening to the past few days. The Black Crowes truly are one of the best (yet sadly underated IMO) American rock bands! Get this CD and rock the fuck out! Oh Yeah!

The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion - The Black Crowes

Description
This is not so much a CD of songs to me as it is a mood! And oh, what an amazing mood it is! I personally think that the Black Crowes are the great American rock band (unfortunately I think they are sadly underrated by the general public). This is one of my fav. CD's of all time. You really have to listen to it start to finish. It just blends in such a seamless and smooth way! Listen to this and see what great American rock sounds like!

Description
Ronnie and Keef, when they were both delicious, captured on video. What more do you want?
Seriously, here is the description from Amazon:
"Two disc (CD + NTSC/Region 0 DVD) set recorded and filmed live in London in 1974 at a concert in support of Ronnie Wood's first solo album, 'I've Got My Own Album To Do' Ronnie Wood was, at the time, a member of the Faces as well as a solo artist, and he was soon to become the 'new boy' in the Rolling Stones. Wood's band on this live outing featured many of the musicians who helped him on the album, including Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards, Small Faces/Faces keyboardist Ian McLagan and the exceptional talents of session musicians Willie Weeks (bass) and Andy Newmark (drums). Also features a guest appearance from the Faces' vocalist Rod Stewart. Both the Cd and DVD feature an exclusive track with digitally remastered audio and video from Ronnies personal archive. The release includes an eight-page booklet with hand written liner notes by Ronnie Wood and previously unseen photos."
