Watch this and see what a great American rock band looks like! These guys are so amazing live (I've seen them at least 3 times). If you have never had the chance to catch them live, or have and just want to reminded how great they are then pick up this up ASAP. It was shot at my beloved Fillmore which makes me love it even more. The only thing wrong with this show is that I wasn't there! heheheheh

Urban Desire - Genya Ravan

Description
If you don't know who Genya Ravan your are missing out. She is a rock and roll pioneer with her group, Goldie and Gingerbreads. If you like Joan Jett, Chrissie Hynde, etc. you will adore Genya. She is a true cool rock and roll chick. She is also currently a DJ on Little Steven's Underground Garage on Sirius Satellite Radio. Her show Chicks and Broads is on the first Friday of ever month (10:00 p.m. ET). Her other show, Goldie's Garage is on the third Friday of the month (12:00 p.m. ET). If you are not familiar with Genya's music you really need to be. Oh, did I mention she is also a pioneering record producer, she produced the first CD by the Dead Boys, Young, Loud and Snotty. If you love Jimmy Miller era Stones, the Faces, the Chesterfield Kings, etc. you cannot afford to be without this CD.

Shine a Light: Original Soundtrack - The Rolling Stones

Description
You really need to pre-order this soundtrack to the new Scorsese directed Rolling Stones movie, Shine a Light. All this month they have Rolling Stones radio (Rolling Stones 24/7) on Sirius Satellite Radio and are playing tracks from the CD. Yesterday I heard Champagne and Reefer (with Buddy Guy) and it smokes (so to speak)! If you go to the website for this movie, you can watch a preview. I know some might say, "oh those guys are way too old to rock", but let me tell you differently. Watch the preview and listen and you will see why now, even as they enter their twilight years they are the greatest rock band on the planet.
Also, note that there are two versions of this CD. One is just 1 CD (and is only tracks from the movie). And this one, which I'm recommending. This one is 2 CD's and has songs that were recorded during the concert at the Beacon Theater, but not included in the movie ("Paint It Black", "Little T&A", "Shine A Light" and "I'm Free")

The Brink - Dave Kusworth Group
First to recommend
Description
Dave Kusworth was in one of my fav. bands, the Dogs D'Amour and also recorded with Nikki Sudden (if you don't know who the late great Nikki Sudden is you need to). This is the first new album from him since 1999. If you like junkie, whiskey soaked music (which is my favorite) this is for you.

Generation Terrorists - Manic Street Preachers
First to recommend
Description
This is their debut CD. This goes to show grunge wasn't the only thing going on in the '90's. My fav. band in the entire world, the WIldhearts also had their debut CD in the 90's. They are also British like the Manic Street Preachers. Clearly Britain was the place to be in the 90's (well to me I would always want to be there). Anyway, this review is all about this great debut CD! They were ironic, witty, angry and sexy. Slash and Burn is my fav. song on the CD (I also adore the video....all black hair, eyeliner, leopard junkie chic).

Raunch and Roll from NYC! Oh how I love these guys. They are like the Stones at their grittiest and dirtiest (think Exile on Main Street) meets Johnny Thunders. HELLO! Get this CD and when you do you can drop me a note and tell me how much you like it! And ladies, these boys are smoking hot as an extra added bonus!!

If you are a Maven what do you listen to? Motherf*&ing Keith Richards, what else??!!! If you love hearing Keef sing with the Stones (some of my favorite all time Stones songs, such as You've Got the Silver are sung by him) then get this CD. This is his first solo CD (and also my favorite of his solo CD's) and you can hear him sing to your hearts content. He's Keef, he's my idol and he's cool as hell. What else is there really to say!
