Gravy Separator | Williams-Sonoma

First to recommend

Description

I love this! I've never been exactly crazy about gravies but I do believe in spending time to make my own stocks. This fabulous tool separates the juices and fat while sieving out the extras. The low spout at the bottom pours out the juices so there's no need to spend an hour attempting to spoon off the fat from the top.

Wide Ceramic Peeler | Williams-Sonoma

First to recommend

Description

When visiting my mom at Christmas and was trapped in her kitchen I realized that I needed to get a new peeler. My left-handed husband had many problems with the dull blade and design of her all-purpose peeler. When I saw this wide ceramic peeler I knew I had to buy it! The ultra-sharp and wide ceramic blade makes it easy to shave and peel just about everything! From vegetables to cheeses and chocolates this peeler can do it all and because it's ceramic it retains its sharp edge up to ten times longer than regular steel.

Silicone Spatulas, Lemongrass | Williams-Sonoma

First to recommend

Description

Yeah I'm recommending spatulas, but for a girl that is constantly updating her kitchen utensils and tools I have to rave about these. Forget those cheaply made spatulas that often cause more discomfort because these spatulas work like a dream. The soft and ultra-flexible heads get every last bit, never melt or crack, and I've yet to see a stain from any that I've owned. The handle is also made from soft maple and it's ROUND! I absolutely hate having to use flat-handled spatulas for long periods of time (some health issues) because I either lose my grip or it hurts. These lovely large rounded handles make it so easy and comfortable to use that I know if you get one, you'll probably toss those other spatulas you have.

Chef'n Stainless Steel Dual Salt and Pepper Mill

Description

I first saw this in my mother-in-law's kitchen and fell in love instantly! This duo salt and pepper mill has such an ingenious design! With one simple twist you can switch between salt and pepper, and the levers can easily adjust for different coarseness for your grinds.

Le Creuset Moroccan Tagine

Description

Oooh how I wish I had this! I usually make my chicken and lamb tagine in a regular dutch oven, but this is just so much more authentic and the temperature and preparation time would be easier to handle.

Thermapen Super-Fast Instant Read Thermometer

First to recommend

Description

Owning a digital thermometer is a must if you're serious about the safety and flavour of your food. I know that before I actually went out and purchased one that it was a terrible guessing game when it came to my turkeys and other roasts. The thermapen is quick, accurate, and durable. My only complaint is that I always have to consider metric conversions since I use metric measurements over here and this pen is only designed with fahrenheit in mind.

Williams-Sonoma | Melamine Mixing Bowls, Multicolored, Set of 4

First to recommend

Description

Adorable and functional - These are essential for family food preparation. Durable, lightweight, and easy-grip handles and a rubber base are kid-friendly and the sizes and colours are suitable for any age. The small spout is also a nice feature if you don't require exact amounts when pouring.
