Normann copenhagen - Move Tube Keyhanger
First to recommend
Description
Way to upend the keychain paradigm!
Sorry, I just wanted to use the word 'Paradigm'. The Tube Keyhanger is a cool new keyholder from Normann copenhagen's 'Move' collection. Using brushed steel (you know I'm all over that) and slick orange rubber (ditto), you can loop as many keys as you can hold onto this vertical carrier. Perfect for purses and bags.
3 inches long, 0.4" in diameter. $26.

Lisa Larson - Animal Key Holders
First to recommend
Description
Lisa Larson is a famed Swedish artist with a penchant for ceramics. She just came out with a beautiful set of key rings based on some of her larger works. They're made from PVC, are hand painted and signed, and come with a red-string attached hand tag with a little info on the artist, conceptual drawings of the piece and more. They come on brass chains with carabiner closings and have little brass tags as well.
The styles are: Giraffe, Porcupine, Dog, Rabbit and Cat. Cost is around $10-12.
They've just been released in Japan (style nexus it is) but should be making their way to the states shortly. You can but it at Amazon.co.jp but if you need other ways, contact me.

Reasons why this belongs on my list:
1) it's functional and yet classy-looking
2) it doesn't scream "Look at me! I'm a frat boy!"
3) it opens beers, and gas prices make me want to drink heavily.
