OK, I'm not crazy, I know these are not birds. But I'm putting them in my porcelain bird list because NO WAY am I a going to start a ceramic dog list. That would be crazy. The bird list is crazy enough.

I just love pleasing pairs of objects, and these dogs are pleasing to me. I think it has to do with the quirkiness of their color. You expect to see green Foo Dogs, but not green Staffordshire dogs like these. And those eyes! They look like deer caught in headlights... or dogs caught in headlights, I suppose.

The “Rose Clock” is a reinvention of a classic overlooked Victorian household object serving no purpose other than to make a ceiling look beautiful. Is “Rose Clock” art or a time piece? It is both. The hands of the clock are the same colour as the face. A double take is needed to realise that it is a working clock. My inspiration comes from boredom. I have spent too many hours at work looking at the time wishing it was 5.30PM. “Rose Clock” now makes looking at the time more rewarding. It lets you know the time but also looks beautiful. “Rose Clock” is made from lightweight cellular resin in the shape of a Victorian ceiling rose.
