Marais AC Chair

First to recommend

Description

I've always loved metal chairs, but they can be too industrial looking or too "euro-design" in style. These old school French chairs in alternative colors are fabulous. The chair was introduced in 1934 as a utility chair for the service industry. When a design looks great no matter the era, that is good design. (Oooh, and these are on sale for $125, which I think is very reasonable, especially for Design Within Reach.)

Fleece Beret

First to recommend

Description

It was a tough decision to cut my hair super short. It is a tougher reality to grow it out. There is a very long period of bad hair days one has to survive. The key survival requirement - hats! All kinds of hats, specially those that look good with short or long hair. This fleece beret is cute and is on sale for $6.99. Heck, I'll buy two.

Silicone Spatulas and Spoonulas

First to recommend

Description

I own the clear versions, and the silicone ones definitely outlasted the old non-silicone ones. It tolerates heat at higher temperatures. I use mine all the time, especially when I can't find my non-stick spatulas and need to flip my eggs. These come in handy as back-ups.

No matter how I try to deny, it is true that fresh pepper makes a big difference. I have the smaller version and love it... Looks pretty even if not in use. That counts for something...

Union Square Dinnerware Sets

First to recommend

Description

When it comes to dinnerware, I am as boring as it gets. I like everything white. I tried to change ways, and it didn't work. So instead I added shapes. I love the square plates and bowls of this set.

I own a bag very similar to this one, and I love it. I even use it as a small weekender sometimes. This one is a deal because it's half off right now. Love deals.

Erik Magnussen 1002 Lantern

First to recommend

Description

Erik Magnussen's clean designs almost seem retro now for some reason. Maybe it's the mix of metal and frosted glass. Definitely the fact that it still uses oil lamp - real retro style. Great deal for $198 (orig $300).

Paul Smith Stripe Hat

First to recommend

Description

On sale for $78 (orig $130). I know what you're thinking. Gap hats are $20. You are right. Lots of cute hats out there for great prices. But it's Paul Smith, master of stripes and his ability to pick the greatest complimentary color combinations. It's not as easy as it looks...
