ECOBAGS Canvas Tote Bags

First to recommend

Description

I have several of these organic cotton bags they roll up and fit in my backpack or car (Ford Escape-Hybrid.) I take them everywhere--they are perfect for when I shop, from Farmers Market to the bookstore. I probably save over 250 plastic bags a year from the recycling bin by using these Eco-Bags, in zero waste—nothing is wasted--thrown away or recycled.

Enviro Products: Polycarbonate 1 liter Water Bottle

First to recommend

Description

I have Mountain Valley Spring Water, delivered to my home. The springs are in Hot Springs, Arkansas not too far from where I live.

Mountain Valley Spring Water is the only water in the U.S. still bottled in glass bottles, besides that it is the best tasting water around. I fill up my enviro bottles with the water from my cooler at home and take everywhere, thus eliminating plastic bottles, they come in great colors too, I have bought them for my family, the kids especially love them, it also teaches them the importance of not using the throw away plastic bottles.

Note: The 2.5 gallon glass bottles from my cooler are recycled when they are picked up by Mountain Valley Spring Water Company. I have created zero waste in my bottled water usage-- by using the Mountain Valley Spring Water and the Enviro Bottles.

Vintage Handkerchiefs on eBay

First to recommend

Description

. . .or from your local Flea Market

My family teases me that about my zero waste habits “If every U.S. household replaced a 175-sheet virgin fiber tissue box with one whose contents are e from 100 percent recycled trees, a campaign brochure contends, "we could save 163,000 trees." Visit NRDC.org for more information.

Buying recycled paper products is just not good enough for me, it is a step in the right direction, for most people, but for me it is just being ‘less bad’ , so I opt to use handkerchiefs that I buy at vintage stores and on Ebay—you can find the greatest colors-patterns and designs, in fact many have inspired me. I also do not use paper towels—I use vintage flour sacks instead and I choose to use vintage cloth napkins---instead of paper recycled ones.
