The Beach Boys: Pet Sounds

Description

Definitely not The Beach Boys top-selling album. However, it is continually considered one of the most influential albums ever made. It's said to be the major influence for "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart Club Band" and repeatedly sited as one of Elton John, Eric Clapton and many others favorite albums. Me, I simply think it's the single best album to listen to in the summer!

Description

Loving Yoshimi so much, sometimes I end up underplaying this album. However, nothing but pure respect goes out to this 99 release. Why? because it is what first got me into The Lips and has my favorite song of theirs, " A Spoonful Weighs a Ton." The Soft Bulletin is happy and fun and everything I want in a record.

Accurately titled, this album feels like you're truly pursuing life. Yeah, almost all stuff by Belle & Sebastian is upbeat and positive. However, this one sings even louder.

This is and will always be one of my favorite albums of all times. Rivers Cuomo is always a superstar, but here he shines like he hasn't done since. This really is an all time classic album.

Description

It might be 12-years-old and by a band that died (well, the lead singer did) before they even got their start. However, I can still listen to this album everyday and I don't think it'd be a stretch to imagine that almost anyone can sing-a-long to most of this album. This is a staple of the 90s.
