Lisbeth Scott - Take Me Home (Pie Cry remix)

Description
This recommendation ranked #1 on my list this week!!
This is the perfect gift if you are looking for a present for anyone over the age of 16. Anyone who likes rock, ambient music, drums-n-bass, world music, new age, or is a fan of Cocteau Twins, Dead Can Dance, Clannad, David Sylvain, Greg Ellis, Enya, Loreena McKennit, Loreena McKnight, Lisbeth Scott, HBO's True Blood, Chronicles of Narnia, Prince Caspian, 300 Gladiators, Ironman, Munich, Passion of the Christ, Disney's The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Lord of the Rings, will love this track!
I am a big Lisbeth Scott fan – I first heard her amazing voice in “Chronicles of Narnia” the movie wasn’t for me (my son loves it!) but I came away with a love for Lisbeth Scott’s chillingly beautiful voice. She's been featured on OVER 100 Film & Television soundtracks!
I bought a couple of her releases (Dove & Fair Skye) at kosmicmusic.com and since I’m registered on their site, I get free downloads (!). They have a new release of hers called “The Pie Cry Remix” that aired on an HBO series, "True Blood." It’s a remix of the Biomusique single (Biomusique is her band with Greg Ellis) “Take me Home” from their 10,000 steps CD. The Pie Cry remix of the track is ONLY AVAILABLE at Kosmicmusic.com (via kosmicmusic.com)

C-Side - Let's Make a Movie - (Single)

Description
Feedback from my newphew - "This is awesome!"
This is the perfect gift if you are looking for a present for primarily females, 16-25. Anyone who likes Hip Hop, rap, R&B, Urban, Pop or are fans of Chris Brown, T.I., Keyshia Cole, Bobbie Valentino, Trey Songz, Unk - will love this gift!
Don’t get it twisted. C-SIDE’S music is the stuff that makes a ride through your ‘hood a real head-bobbing, system-thumping experience. But the Atlanta-based threesome brings more to the table than just witty lyricism and bangin’ beats. When you ride through the ‘hood with Kenny Kold, Bo-Q and Gator, get ready to travel the back streets, cut down a few alleys, and maybe even roll over a dirt road or two. Get ready to see reality -- raw, uncensored and uncut.
Since forming C-SIDE six years ago, Gator and cousins Kenny Kold and Bo-Q have had a knack for not only making hits – they’ve produced for some of the biggest names in the business – but also coming up with clever songs that are body-rockers and brain ticklers. Listen carefully and you just might learn something – about yourself.
Music lovers got their first taste of C-SIDE’S undiluted -- yet palatable – brand of music when their debut single “myspace.freak” exploded on myspace.com last year. The runaway hit merges a snap-inspired beat with clever wordplay as it probes the phenomenon of myspace addiction and gives us all a solid working definition of a freak. “A freak is anyone who takes something and goes a little too far with it,” they offer. But for C-SIDE, taking a good thing and running with it has paid off, thanks to the hoards of fans who flocked to the single, which, interestingly enough, started out as a joke. Now, nearly a year later, C-SIDE has the last laugh. And the punchline? Over one million plays on myspace and some 60,000 units sold independently. In addition, the song was one of the top five most played tracks on myspace.com and it enjoyed a 30-day feature on iTunes. “People from Australia, Amsterdam and all over the world were hitting us up,” says Kenny, the group’s resident producer who has worked with the likes of T-Pain, Ludacris, Dem Franchise Boys, Lil' Mama, and Pimp C. “We even did drops for several radio stations in France.” But it wasn’t just fans who were paying attention; so was the music industry.
In the wake of the single’s success, C-SIDE’S label, POWER Entertainment, entered into a partnership with Atlanta-based 17.20 Entertainment, which released a remix of “myspace.freak,” produced by and featuring hit-maker Jazze Pha (Ciara, Outkast, Ludacris).
The overwhelming success of the single opened many doors for the group whose name is an acronym for Creative Superb Individuals Dominating Entertainment. And the domination continues with their eponymous debut CD due out on 1720 Entertainment this Fall. The follow-up single, “Boyfriend, Girlfriend,” with its nostalgic, bass-inspired beat, is already being touted as the breakout hit of the summer. “I just like that old school feel to it and the high energy that it has,” says Gator. “It’s a complete record to me.” In the song the boys talk about the challenge of maintaining a relationship as ‘boyfriend and girlfriend’ in the face of life on the road. Rissi Palmer - Grown Up Christmas List - (Single)

Description
"Rissi's Xmas List song is radiating through the house and we can't get enough of it!"
This is the perfect gift if you are looking for a present for mostly females 16-45. Anyone who likes Christmas Music (this is her first Christmas song!), Country Music, R&B, Pop, Adult Contemporary, Contemporary Country and/or are fans of Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Faith Hill, Trish Yearwood, Colbie Caillat, Norah, Dixie Chicks, Natasha Beddingfied, Carrie Underwood, India Arie, Mariah Carey or Sheryl Crow will love this CD!
I am a new HUGE fan of this artist named RISSI PALMER. She has an amazing album out that features this single called “Country Girl” that’s already been on the Billboard charts. If you're already familiar with Rissi Palmer (www.rissipalmer.com) then you know that she's the first African-American Female Country artist to chart three singles on the Billboard charts ("Country Girl", "Hold On To Me", and "No Air") as well as charting her “No Air” video on cmt.com - check it out here http://www.cmt.com/videos/rissi-palmer/259570/no-air.jhtml
She totally rocks the single originally done by American Idol's Jordin Sparks.
She was an avid singer as a child singing in the gospel choir at her church……she drew her inspiration from the Patsy Cline records that her mother, (who she lost at the tender age of 7), listened to day in and day out. Then, after seeing Charley Pride perform at the Grand Ole' Opry, she was convinced that she could very well accomplish anything, including becoming the first Female African-American Country star that she is fast becoming. She has now performed at the Opry 8 times, and most recently with her idol, Charley Pride. (via iTunes)

Jamie O'Neal - Like a Woman - (Single)

Description
"I fell in love with this Jamie O'Neal!" - says my boyfriend!
This is the perfect gift if you are looking for a present for a female, 25-45. Anyone who likes country, ballads or adult contemporary music that is a fan of Carrie Underwood, Faith Hill, Trisha Yearwood or Martina McBride will love this single!
The first thing you notice is the voice, a sunburst of emotion that lets you know you're in the presence of someone special. It's throaty and powerful, full of confidence, brimming with personality and shaded with country, soul and gospel textures.
The second thing you notice is the songwriting - lyrics that stray off the beaten path to explore new shadows of the human heart. These songs are the works of a woman who understands the beauty of true craftsmanship.
Jamie O'Neal is that rare individual, a debut artist who arrives with her talent fully formed. A superb live entertainer, a polished songwriter and a real "singer's singer," Jamie has poured a lifetime of experience into the creation of her music
"I have always wanted to be in Nashville," says Jamie O'Neal. "I have dreamed of this my entire life." (via iTunes)

We The Kings-We the Kings (Deluxe Ed.)

Description
This is the perfect gift if you are looking for a present for 12-24 yr. old boys/girls/teens/20 somethings. Anyone who likes Alternative Rock, Hardcore & Punk, Emo, Lo-Fi, Pop, PowerPop, Indie music or is a fan of The Academy Is, Boys Like Girls, Metro Station, All Time Low, Mayday Parade, The Maine, Cobra Station or Secondhand Serenade, will love this CD!
We the Kings are an unapologetically commercial pop-punk band from Bradenton, FL, a small town on the west coast of the state notable primarily for being the home of Tropicana orange juice. Friends since childhood (the band name refers to the name of their junior high mascot), the foursome — singer and guitarist Travis Clark, guitarist Hunter Thomsen, his bassist brother Drew Thomsen, and drummer Danny Duncan — formed the band while still attending high school. In 2007, under the guidance of manager Bret Disend, the still-teenage quartet placed a number of tracks on the social-networking site Purevolume to build their online buzz as an unsigned band while pursuing a deal with EMI's revived faux-indie imprint S-Curve Records (Joss Stone, Fountains of Wayne, the Baha Men). Their self-titled debut album was produced by Sam Hollander and mixed by Lou Giordano, who had each done the same for then-current chart favorites Gym Class Heroes and the Plain White T's, respectively. After seven years the Toadies are back together and it's like they'd never been apart, they're making rock, it's a bit different, it's a bit better, it's back to the roots rock and roll. Great guitar playing, great lyrics, great shouting, singing, rocking. This is down and dirty rock and roll and you know it right from the fast-paced opener "So Long Lovey Eyes" all the way through to the closer, "I Want Your Love", with it's amazing drum intro. Randy's 50th Anniversary - Reggae Anthology

Description
"It's gonna take 'til New Years to hear all the amazing tracks on this CD"! Thanks so much for the present" - from a fan of my recommendations!
This is the perfect gift if you are looking for an amazing present for primarily males or 18 and up who are like reggae music from the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's & 90's - this CD has over 51 tracks by virtually every reggae artist on the planet! Lord Creator, Alton & Eddie, Joy & Paulette, Rico Rodriquez, Norma Fraser, Basil Gabbidon, Cornell Campbell, Charlie Organaire, Joanne Gordon, Roland Alphonso, Baba Brooks, Skatalites, Alton Ellis, John Holt, Toots & the Maytals, Delroy Byfield, Don Drummond, Stranger & Ken, Bob Marley & the Wailers, Peter Tosh, Gaylads, Count Machukie, Impact All-Stars, Ethiopians, Agustus Pablo, J-Roy, Junior Byles, Horace Andy, Jimmy London, Donovan Carless, John Holt, Hortense Ellis, Senya, Gregory Isaacs, Black Uhuru, Lloyd Parks, African Brothers, Keith Poppin, Errol Dunkley, Gladiators, Heptones, Hubert Lee, Charley Ace, Dirty Harry , Carl Malcolm, Big Youth, - they will love this CD!
The '17 North Parade' offshoot of the VP record label has been issuing excellent reggae revive albums and compilations for a few years now but this might be their masterpiece which is appropriate as VP records evolved from the Jamaican based Randy's record label which is the subject of this compilation. The package includes two full hour plus music CDs and a "bonus" DVD telling the story of Randy's. Whilst the DVD is a pretty basic affair the story it tells is fascinating for reggae buffs like myself and the wealth of talent involved is amazing for the cognoscenti including many luminaries from the golden age of reggae. The music CDs are just fantastic, CD1 showing the evolution of the music on Randy's through the 1960s from raw R&B inspired ska through rocksteady to early reggae with an extraordinary range of talent including the Maytals, Alton Ellis, Lord Creator, John Holt and even the Wailers. CD2 though is the real deal (and ultimately why I purchased this item) showing what Randy's were up to in their early 70's purple patch with a quite brilliant selection of instrumentals (inc. Pablo's immortal 'Java'), lovers (eg. Alton Ellis' 'Too Late' and Dennis Brown's 'Cheater') and Roots (eg. Senya's 'Children of the Ghetto), all of it good and most of it great. I must also note that the sound quality is straight from the top drawer with the music sounding like it was remastered from the original master tapes, a rarity in reggae reissues believe me. My only wish is that there is enough in the vaults for a second volume, hopefully including 'Rolling Stone' by the Psalms, 'Won't Come Easy' by Sweeny and the Wailers and 'Evil That You Do' by Roots and the Wailers.
