If there were one item that could personify the dream of design sensitivity and the mundane aspects of everyday parenting, this might be it. You're going to appreciate this less than you might expect at 3:30 am--empty as it will be, because you were too tired to actually wash any bottles--as your child wales in the other room and your spouse infuriatingly just sleeps through it all. But it's good to dream. All that aside, this piece looks great, whether you like babies or not. I'm sure it's great for drying highball glasses, too.

I was never a huge fan of these things, preferring to carry the baby around in a sling or let her swing. But I understand the idea of a child wanting to relax while watching you halfway across the room, and that scenario looks pretty stylish with this lounger.

This one was actually purchased before she was born. The sentiment is funny as it is, but, looking back, it probably also spoke to our concern about what we were getting ourselves into and what we were going to do to this tiny, unsuspecting person.
