The Trial by Franz Kafka

Description
Ok I'll admit it - I wasn't too pumped on The House of Mirth by Edith Wharton...it just never got good for me. So, still planning on reading the classics, I'm going to try my hand at The Trial by Franz Kafka. The edition I have is paired with The Metamorphosis by him, as well, so I'll probably be reading both. This is supposed to be dark and disturbing, which will be an awesome switch from the Victorian-Age romances like The House of Mirth (I'm just not down with that stuff....give me crazy people and murderers)...can't wait :-)

The House of Mirth by Edith Wharton

Description
On my way to read ALL the classics - this one sounds pretty good. Edith Wharton based the majority of her books on the fashionable New York society she was raised in (sounds good to me). The House of Mirth is about a wealthy woman who is addicted to the pleasures of the moneyed world but she soon figures out that she is completely out of her element and "unfit for survival." Sounds sexy!

Candide by Voltaire

Description
I'm on a quest to read all the classics, starting with Candide. I suggest you research this one a little bit before you start it - just so you will understand the satirical undertones and everything Voltaire is trying to get across, otherwise it will seem pointless to you. The plot is extremely fast paced, but super funny and I'm finding myself laughing out loud at a few parts. It's a short book at about 110 pages so you'll finish it quickly. It's excellent so far and I'm about half way through.

Book # 2 in the Twilight Series. Definitely not as good as the first but a great read nonetheless. And yes, it makes you want to read the 3rd.

Ok, so I was a little late to jump on the Twilight bandwagon. I'm a huge Harry Potter fan and was a little miffed that another book came along and caused so much chaos. Nevertheless, I was curious so I started the series. Let me tell you, I'M SO GLAD I DID! I still love Harry, but the Twilight series is on a completely different level - much more mature and SEDUCTIVE. I love this entire series. If you haven't read it - I highly suggest it :-)
