For some reason the Wallter Slat Rack reminds me of a picketed fence. But this fruit falls far from the tree of the traditional American dream home. The Wallter Slat Rack is a play on Wallter's popular wall applications, which are intended for just decorative use. But the Slat Rack is functional, so you can achieve the same aesthetic with practical benefits. The wide grooves and elongated shelf holds magazines, umbrellas, bills and jackets all in one place. Why not make something as simple as a coat rack, a bigger deal than a mere hook in the wall? New design should marry form and function, and challenge traditional concepts of what constitutes art.
