Aftermath - The Rolling Stones

First to recommend

Description

Amazing CD. Paint it Black is one of my fav. Rolling Stones songs. This CD is extremely important in the context of Rolling Stones history (hell music history for that matter) as it is the first album that Mick and Keef wrote all the songs. If you don't own this you need to.

Description

If you are a music junkie like me you will fall in mad love with this site. I can't live without it. Want to hear a vintage AC/DC concert from 1977 recorded in San Francisco at the Old Walford? Well they've got it (and the sounds for this show is amazing, the recording is right off the sound board). Want to hear a Faces concert from 1973? They've got that too. Simply awesome site with so many live concerts here, you can waste many an hour here.

Let The Music Do The Talking - The Joe Perry Project

First to recommend

Description

Joe Perry is one of my guitar idols. During his absence from Aerosmith in the late 70's/early 80's he released a few solo albums. This was his first one and I just adore it. None of the singers he had on the various albums are as good as Steven Tyler, but hey, this is not Aerosmith. It's the Joe Perry Project, and this is all about Joe and the guitars. He really does let the music do the talking. If you were ever in doubt of his guitar god status, check this out and see how he can stand on his own and shred!

Singles Collection: The London Years - The Rolling Stones

First to recommend

Description

All the early years Stones stuff (which is my fav. along with the fantastic Jimmy Miller era stuff). All their hits, etc. which everyone has heard and discussed many times over (Last Time, Paint it Black, etc). My most favorite song (if I had to choose) on this is Under Assistant West Coast Promotion Man. If I was in a band I would do a cover of that song. It's just fun and not everyone has heard of it! I also love Jiving Sister Fanny. Some people describe it as Southern Boogie, and I just don't see that. To me it sounds like a Faces song done by the Rolling Stones (and I'm a huge Faces fanatic), which is why I love it. If you are a Stones fan this is a must have. All their great early stuff in a convenient 3 CD package! What's not to love?!

Black & White Album The Hives

Description

If the rest of this album is as awesome as the single, Tick Tick Boom (which how can you not love that name?) then Sweden's fantabulous Hives have another winner on their hands! You can check out the single Tick Tick Boom, which is currently being played on Little's Steven's Underground Garage station on Sirius Satellite Radio.

Just think you can be rocking out to one of the best CD's ever in no time! The entire CD rocks my world but my two fav. tracks are:

She's About To Cross My Mind The Red Button

First to recommend

Description

I was first introduced to these guys on Little Steven's Undground Garage on Sirius Satellite Radio. The song Cruel Girl is in heavy rotation and thank the Goddess it is! Such a great song. It sounds really Beatlesque to me (think '64-65 Beatles, not later stuff). The CD is very mod London meets the Garage. You can't go wrong with this one.

Shake Your Money Maker The Black Crowes

First to recommend

Description

What an amazing debut album! People love to yammer on and on about Appetite for Destruction. Hey, don't get my wrong, it was amazing, but not the only amazing debut album that ever was. While Shake Your Money Maker might not be groundbreaking (although it sort of was in spandex and grunge filled 1990) it is down and dirty sexy rock at its best. To me its Jimmy Miller era Stones meets the Faces (my two favs.). What is not to love!? Every song is great and I do not skip a track (and trust me for me that is rare as I have the attention span of the turnip at times). If you don't have this classic, don't you think its about time that you rectify that?!
