Paperchase - a6 wiro bound 2008 diaries

First to recommend

Description

I kid you not when I say I searched far and wide to find these diaries. They are the brainchild of a UK company named Paperchase. Fortunately, for those of us who are stateside, you can find many of Paperchase's products in Borders. I'm not sure which I like better: the fact that these journals are spiral-bound (and will lay flat) or that they have such luscious floral designs. (via Paperchase)

Sharyn Sowell :: Handcut Silhouette Artist :: Contemporary Icons Gallery

First to recommend

Description

Even more so than flowers, silhouette images epitomize romance, timelessness and femininity to me. This artist, Sharyn Sowell, shapes her designs the traditional way: using paper and scissors. Soon, you may be able to find her work in your neighborhood Hallmark store. Until then, after viewing some of the work she displays on her website, you just may be tempted to try making your own Valentine's Day silhouette. (via Victoria)

But if you must-- go for these awesome retro valentines... they are composed brilliantly and are waaaay better than the Hannah Montana leftovers from your kids.

Hello Journal

First to recommend

Description

My favorite artist, writer, graphic designer and real-person-I-have-yet-to-meet. It won't cost you anything to visit her blog, but it may inspire you to buy this journal or one of her books. In addition to being an artist, she is very tied to the causes of green living and autism. Her name is Ali Edwards. (via Ali Edwards)
