My Beauty Favorites - a list by debegray

About this list:

When you're a working mom, you need to keep things simple. I stick with what works, products I've found over more than 30 years of use, since I was blow-drying my hair into the Farrah style and carrying multiple Lip Smackers in soda flavors.

Shea Butter Lotion at Camden Grey

First to recommend

Description

Fantastic ingredients, cheap, unscented (good for sensitive skin) - this is my current moisturizer. You can also buy some lavender essential oil from Camden Grey and mix it in. Lavender's soothing for sensitive skin.

Elderflower Cooling Eye Gel - The Body Shop

First to recommend

Description

I love this stuff. I have allergies, and when I wake up, the skin around my eyes is frequently puffy. I apply some of this gel, wait a few minutes, wash it off, and I'm back to normal.

Agbanga Karite : African Black Soap, 1 lb.

First to recommend

Description

Yes, I know it looks pretty gross. But when I ran my online store selling natural soap and skin care, this was the african black soap I sold. I've tried black soap from other companies, but I haven't found any I like better. This soap is wonderful for dry, sensitive skin. I've had dry skin most of my life, and black soap is the only thing that treats it effectively. Conversely, it's also good for acne.

You should only have to apply undereye concealer once a day. I've tried many concealers over the years, and this one makes the grade.

Kiss My Face Vanilla Honey Organic Lip Balm SPF 15

2 people recommended this item

Description

I loooove the smell of this. Since I moved to CA, I've become more serious about SPF. In CT we really only had sun about half the year, and the sun in the winter was pitiful. Now all my lip balms have to have SPF 15 or higher. This lip balm entices me to apply it, so I'm more likely to use it.

You'd think for the price it would do a crummy job, but it's great. My family and I love it.

I love this stuff! It really does make your hair shiny and soft. The smell's different, but not unpleasant. (via cath)
