commercial polyurethane coating

Description
To keep the original oak floor and create a look that fits within the Japanese modern point of view, I am staining my wooden floors dark brown and coating it with a high gloss polyurethane finish. This creates an Asian look without being too 'Oriental' and still maintain the modern appeal. The other perk to polyurethane coating is its strength. It will withstand the paws of two 110 lb. dogs.

nanawall accordion doors

Description
Here's a question for you. If you had three adjacent glass sliding doors, how do you open all three? Don't think too hard. You can't. That was my problem in designing a lap pool placed immediately outside a usable glass wall. Open one door to access the pool, and the other two are out of service. There was one solution that didn't require serious engineering, and that would be installing an accordion door system.
There's really only one vendor that produces this in aluminum and wood. Nanawall. It's German-made, so you know it's sturdy and highly functional. They're really beautiful and well-designed. And they're really expensive, at about $5,000 per panel. My three doors, plus another matching door for the adjacent japanese bath, totalled around $20,000 (without installation cost). I think my eyes rolled to the back of my head when I heard this. Obviously, not in the budget. In my opinion, it is worth it. The small details are often the silent heroes that differentiates a great design from a so-so design.
