Miniature Newspaper Art Pins from Carolyn Forsman

First to recommend

2 people recommended this item

Description

What a cool idea -- to turn yesterday's news into today's art (or, to be more specific, a miniature newspaper that can be pinned to your sweater and worn as a piece of art). It's just one of the many creative inspirations awaiting you in Carolyn Forsman's very aptly named "Conversation Pieces" collection.

First to recommend

Description

The International Society of Altered Book Artists is a non-profit Organization dedicated to promoting altered books as an art form. As the Society's website explains, an altered book is "any book, old or new that has been recycled by creative means into a work of art. They can be ... rebound, painted, cut, burned, folded, added to, collaged in, gold-leafed, rubber stamped, drilled or otherwise adorned." Membership costs $35 a year and entitles you to copies of the Society's bi-annual publication, inclusion in the members' gallery, and access to the password-protected members' area of the site, which features all sorts of goodies.

Mirage Sketchbooks

First to recommend

Description

Mirage Notebooks are stylish, practical, and durable. (The pocket-sized ones have been test-driven in the harshest environment imaginable: my purse.) Depending on which size and style you choose, you can get them lined or blank (for doodling, journaling, scrapbooking -- whatever). If you go to Mirage's website (http://www.miragepaperco.com/), you'll find information about their full line of products plus the scoop on their custom order program. (If you order 100 units or more, they'll design custom notebooks or other products just for you. If you're a person who loves paper, that could be your ultimate fantasy come to life: your own custom notebook.)

Cavallini & Co. - Accessories

First to recommend

Description

Who says that stickers and stamps are just for kids? People who love paper know otherwise. I have the Alphabet Stamps (shown on Cavallini's site) and they are really fun and versatile. I use them on greeting cards, envelopes, and when journalling.
