Yay Alternative! Been loving this company for years, and now they have a super-adorable kids' line. If I owned pom-poms, I would have already done a cheer routine for them.

See Kai Run - Flexible soled leather shoes for babies, toddlers and pre and new walkers

First to recommend

Description

Beyond the obvious crush-your-heart-to-bits quality of the style exhibited here in the photo, the line of See Kai Run shoes for toddlers offers a sole made of an incredibly flexible and light rubber. It's a dream of a segue between the Robeez and regular, hard-soled footwear for new walkers, and it offers additional protection for those fragile, baby feet in outdoor scenarios. My son was in and out of his first pair pretty quickly, due to a crazy growth spurt, but I still drool over their ridiculous cuteness. Let's face it - there's not much in this world that's more precious than baby shoes, and validly so. But these take the cute-cake.

Bon Ami

Description

I can't think of a better household cleaning product. This stuff is unbelievable. It cleans magically. I say this with no overstatement implied. But that isn't even why I really adore it; the stuff is totally environmentally friendly, and it's been around since the mid-1800's. Um, yeah. I'd say the tried-and-true cliche has some merit with this product. p.s. I didn't come up with the "cleans magically" thing -- my husband did. And he's even more cynical than I am. So.

Description

My love for various beauty products throughout the years has waxed and waned, but I have remained steadfastly rooted at the alter of this line of scent by The Body Shop. Beginning my affair during high school, and maintaining it through my terrible twenties, nothing can convince me to desert this light, lovely, intoxicating fragrance.

California Baby Calming & Non-Burning Diaper Area Wash

First to recommend

Description

I'm so hung up on this stuff. It's like baby bum nectar. When the scat diaper is removed, wipes alone don't dissolve the, um, lingering scent; and since bathing your child after every espisode wherein they've soiled themselves isn't really practical, this spray-on diaper area wash is the best temporary fix that exists. It kills that stench, pronto. Also, as a bonus, it works well as a soother for minor cuts and owwies, it's free of allergen-inducing ingredients, and it's got a light, clean fragrance that doesn't overwhelm.

Product Details - Calendula Baby Cream, Large - Weleda, Inc.

First to recommend

Description

I went through a laundry list of various diaper rash creams before a friend pushed this on me. It acts quickly on rashes, not just in the diaper zone but anywhere on baby (or afflicted parents). My son had some minor skin sensitivity in random spots as an infant, spots like inner elbows, between a few toes, behind one knee, a bit around his belly button, and in the neck folds (a common malaise for the babies). The Weleda cream cleared it up after a day or so. I'm a BIG fan, as a result.

Baby Organic Gentle Tear-Free Shampoo & Body Wash

Description

Love love love L-O-V-E this soap/shampoo/miracle tonic all in one. We've been using it on our son since he was only a few months old, and with his sensitive skin, we've had to be mighty careful about what goes on that skin. This stuff is total genius. Dare I say - perfect? Yes. It's perfect.

Wish it did dishes.

Healthy Times Baby Food

First to recommend

Description

Okay, so my son no longer eats baby food from jars. But I couldn't miss the opportunity to spread the word about how much he loved this stuff when he was still at that stage. I always sampled his meals du jour, because I wanted to know what was going on for his brand-new taste buds, and the Earth's Best was often kind of, well, yechhh. But the Aloha Chicken Mango (or whatever it's called), among other varieties offered by Healthy Times, was actually tasty. To me. An adult. Kapische? (In other words, yum.) And it's organic, with zero preservatives/artificial additives. FTW.
