Silicone Spatulas and Spoonulas
First to recommend
Description
I own the clear versions, and the silicone ones definitely outlasted the old non-silicone ones. It tolerates heat at higher temperatures. I use mine all the time, especially when I can't find my non-stick spatulas and need to flip my eggs. These come in handy as back-ups.

No matter how I try to deny, it is true that fresh pepper makes a big difference. I have the smaller version and love it... Looks pretty even if not in use. That counts for something...

Holy cow, these are on sale for cheap! From $100 to $20!!! I have ones for coffee and tea, and I am soooo tempted to add to my collection with these. Love the white canisters. Goes with my boring white dishes, but in a good way.

Union Square Dinnerware Sets

Description
When it comes to dinnerware, I am as boring as it gets. I like everything white. I tried to change ways, and it didn't work. So instead I added shapes. I love the square plates and bowls of this set.

Sweeper with UV-C Sanitizing Technology
First to recommend
Description
It's called a sweeper because it's a light-weight vacuum that picks up larger particles from your floor. It beats having to sweep the stuff under the rug...
The UV-C is the key to this... Did you know chlorine will not kill dust mites? But a few seconds of UV-C exposure does! For $50, you can't go wrong with this! (via grenade fishing)

laguoile steak knives

Description
I would say best steak knives for the price. $79 for a set of four is not bad at all. Comes in black and ivory as well. I personally love the red. I never understood the steak knives thing, until I used the Laguoiles. One word of caution... They're too sharp for hot dogs.

Island Mounted Range Hood - "Luxor"
First to recommend
Description
October 30, 2007 | I ended up ordering this one. I took a chance. I hope it doesn't turn out too "Euro Flashy", you know... the kind that borderlines Hong Kong looking design. Not in a good way. I decided it would replace the two lights I was going to have to install above the island. And the glass is less obtrusive, creating less density above eye-level. It's important for me to obtain a lot of negative space. Frees the mind. Good Feng Shui too.
June 27, 2007 | I am stuck. I can't decide between the four styles I have posted here. This one is interesting. The hood is lit, like mood lighting. I'm having trouble deciding if this will look nice or cheesy. It can go either way... That's the problem. Hopefully nice, because at $2,500, it's a thousand more than the other ones I selected.

Description
sparkling white wine is the quintessential summer drink!
i know. i should be craving the flutes with the sides that curve gently inward to save the bubbles. however, i need the sleekness of a straight line because everything else in my life is way too twisted and tangled.

I didn't realize these 1) have been around forever and 2) are impossible to find in the U.S. I actually have a pair, but now thinking about it, I might have brought it back with me from Germany a long time ago. I love them because they feel heavy and strong, like as if they were hand casted by some old factory. Well, not hand-casted any longer, but they are made by Henckels. Just not offered in the U.S. I highly recommend these.
