stainless steel utensil organizers

Description

Stainless is the perfect material for these trays. Takes less space than wood and way more durable as well. All things stainless in the kitchen are great. Stainless does not rust or warp, and best of all, it's machine washable! (Make sure you buy 18/10 stainless though, as this is the higher grade stainless).

professional baking sheets

Description

In my opinion Chicago Metallic makes the best professional-level bakeware. These sheets do not warp (don't you hate it when they do curl?). Distributes heat evenly (so if you're going to burn your cookies, these will brown them evenly). Lasts forever!

wustolf classic cleaver

First to recommend

Description

I used to watch my mom and grandmother chop with cleavers, and I've been fascinated with them ever since. There's an art to how you swing these things, and I'm not quite there yet. I think target practice may be the key to success. The Wustolf cleaver is heavy-weight and very durable. There have been many "oops", yet the cleaver is still in very good shape.

Description

I love my Wustolf's, and for some reason, I'm very attached to the classics, even though there are some really good new knives out there. It feels nice and heavy in you rhand, and the one piece metal construction makes it nice and sturdy (metal continues from blade down center of handle). If you have to decide between Henckels and Wustolf, I recommend Wustolf. (Also love magnetic knife bars. Best way to store knives.)

Also called the conical sieve, it's great for making stock and soups. For making stock, the shape helps sink and pack the "stuff" to the bottom. Simply push the pestle around a bit, and you pretty much get all the juice out. I like Williams-Sonoma the best for its size. Big.

small cruet

Description

This is not quite the one I have, which I found in Italy years ago, but it has similar functionality. I use it to mix balsamic and vinegar... Perfect as a small salad dressing server.

rösle utility bars + hooks

First to recommend

Description

I love my rosle system so much, I actually made the architect design the cabinetry around this hanging bar unit. I have enough to install across one entire wall, and the tools to go with it. Rosle manufactures the best stainless steel kitchen tools you will find in the market. German-made with exceptional details. High-grade stainless steel (18/10). Almost indestructable. Well-designed and very attractive.

FrancisFrancis! X1 Espresso Machine

8 people recommended this item

Description

Coffee makers are pretty boring looking. Just hunks of white plastic that are subjected to abuse every day as you make your morning brew, and then leave them to be washed hours (days?) later.

However, if you have one of these sleek babies sitting on your counter, you'll be sure to lovingly wash and wax it every day. It's sexy, functional, and can also keep you awake all day. Oh yes, it makes espresso too. Vroom! (via Gizmodo)

metro commercial chef's cart

Description

There are many grid shelving systems that immitate Metro, but if you want qualify, it's best to go with this brand. Mine has survived four moves. It still works great. They are sturdy. Chrome plate has not chipped, which is always a good sign.

full-size chrome bullet trashcan

First to recommend

Description

Under-the-cabinet cans are too small for me, and not functional covered. This can is nice enough to be kept in view, like a furniture piece. And I don't have to dump the garbage everyday, which is really nice.
