kitchenaid mixer in gunmetal chrome

Description

When I worked at Williams-Sonoma (years and years ago), I thought it would be nice to have the Kitchenaid in the same gunmetal polish as the BMW's. They're both mean machines, after all. They tried it, and it's still my favorite of all kitchenaid color options.

all-clad stainless wok

Description

Yes, I have an all-clad wok. I also have a copper wok and a traditional chinese wok. I'm a wok fanatic... It's so easy to cook with woks, and you can cook pretty much prepare 90% of your meals in a wok (if you had to). This is a great odd piece your favorite chef would love receiving as a gift (nice to have, but not worthy spending your own money on).

all-clad nonstick stainless skillet

First to recommend

Description

I pretty much use this for frying eggs only. (Sure, go ahead, laugh at me.) Eggs slide right off this pan, AND I can flip my over-medium like a pancake (pretty cool, huh?). Nonstick is not optimal for cooking most things, in particular sauces, because it does not caramalize the natural sugars in your ingredients. Very important part of cooking.

all-clad basic cookware set

First to recommend

3 people recommended this item

Description

This is the best set to get, because all the pieces included are highly functional. I am a fan of all-clad's stainless cookware because they can be thrown in the dishwasher (except the nonsick pieces). I also love it that the handles stay cool. I do lose some performance since stainless does not conduct heat as well as aluminum (the aluminum lines are better cookware but require handwashing). For me, the trade-off is worthwhile, but my serious foodie friends do not agree at all.

all-clad nonstick stainless roaster

First to recommend

2 people recommended this item

Description

Heavy-duty roaster that is just the right size for multiple uses (ham, roast, chicken, small turkey). I chose nonstick for easy grease cleaning. I use this mostly for chicken (on a rack, as in image), so the nonstick does not affect the outcome. Stainless exterior is durable and cleans easily. Aluminum interior distributes heat evenly (great heat conductor). The quality is so great, this roaster will last you a lifetime.

Description

One of my favorite tools in the kitchen. If you enjoy cooking, this should be the next splurge on your list. I don't use mine often, but when I do, I get all giddy. It works super well. And it's just a really nice-looking and well-designed tool that hasn't changed much since it was first introduced.

cuisinart coffeemaker with stainless carafe

First to recommend

Description

The trick to decent coffee at home is not over-heating it. Stainless caraf coffee makers keep the coffee warm for up to 6 hours (they claim 12 hrs) without requiring applied heat.
