Description
Having a bad hair day? A sleepless night left circles under your eyes? I sympathize, but imagine if the world was taking pictures of it.
Online docs The Beauty Brains have compiled a slideshow that’s worth a few thousand words about beauty, makeup, and the artifice of looking good. Sure, it makes me covet a good makeup artist, but it also makes me feel a little better about my scraggly eyebrows and my T-zone to know that even Drew Barrymore needs a little retouching now and then. Luisa New York Sugar Scrub

Description
Harsh, cold and wet weather makes the idea of ‘exfoliating’ sound like a less than pleasant experience, but one that is more than necessary for any good skin care regimen. And we’ve got two new favorites as we suffer through climactic hell.
Well worth mentioning is Luisa New York’s “Sugar Scrub,” a scrumptious mix of dark brown sugar, sweet almond oil, jojoba oil, raspberry seeds, and vitamin E. This stuff is heaven in an amber jar—it left my skin polished and exfoliated and, probably thanks to the oils, hydrated and smooth without becoming oily. It smelled so good that I was tempted to put it on ice cream, but was able to resist. (via SheFinds)

Pop Beauty Eye Cake

Description
We just received a package of Pop Beauty products, and tested out a couple of things that are mention worthy. Pop Beauty Glitter Stix glitter crayons are fabulously fun, and as the product promises, don’t crease or smudge. We road tested their blue and green, but must recommend them with a caveat: these products are great, if you are under thirty, but probably not something you’d want to wear after that, unless you’re a supermodel or pop star.
But what we did find appropriate for any age was Pop Beauty Eye Cake-- a circular metal tin with a collection of five colors. We gave our cake to a very light blonde and had her test out the blue—and it was one of the sweetest combinations we’ve seen—our tester was fearful of looking like the Barbie head she had in the 1980’s, but this was subtle. The shadow also had great staying power, which is always a plus. (via SheFinds)

Jonathan Adler Candle Shelter Island
First to recommend
Description
Aromatic candles should be a mainstay in everyone’s home, men included, and we love the sophisticated scents of the new Jonathan Adler candle line. Inspired by the designer’s favorite destinations, the candles are available in three scents – Big Sur, Palm Beach and Shelter Island – and are designed to evoke the atmosphere of these desirable destinations. The containers are made from stylish, etched glass, so he can feel comfortable displaying them on a coffee table or bookshelf.
We’re happy to report that the scent quickly fills a room, but doesn’t overpower. This is especially important if he’s a bit “hygienically challenged,” and you’re looking to rid his place of that nasty frat house, boy smell. (via HeFindsEd)

Kiss My Face Active Athletic Muscle Relaxant Bath & Shower Gel

Description
One of my New Year’s Resolutions was to run more. With iPod in hand, I set off on an hour long jaunt around the neighborhood.
By the time I hit the halfway mark, my right knee hurt, my left foot ached and I was forced to hobble all the way home looking like grandma on an especially arthritic day.
I had Active Athletic Shower Gel and Foaming Bath waiting for me when I dejectedly returned home. A muscle relaxant, it contains soothing ingredients like olive oil and eucalyptus and it doesn’t have any animal ingredients or artificial colors.
In all honesty, it was hard to tell if it made any difference, but I figure I’m going to use a shower gel anyway, it might as well be one packed with feel good ingredients. Afterwards, I used warming Bodyglide on my sore joints and I was all good….at least, until my next run, when I tried and failed to lap an old lady with an artificial hip. (via SheFindsCourtney)
