Description
In my 18 years of performing as a pro DJ I have yet to find a better touring cabinet. I want my speakers to boom when I drop a track. I want the crowd to feel the energy of the music. I also want that damn speaker to work every time I hook it up. On the flip side they need to be compact so that my crew can load and unload them without a forklift. I have personally blown at least 10 sets of other speakers because of overload. Most other brands just can’t keep up with JBL’s quality and reliability. I have friends who brag about their Bose systems. Sure they sound good, but they just don’t kick. What can I say, my parties rock harder! (via JBL)

Every pro DJ needs to learn how to perform using these bad boys. When you learn how to rock a party with the “decks” and only records, you can apply that experience to the newer technology and take your performance to a new level. They are a must foundation for any DJ. (via Technics)

I believe you only look as good as your lighting. If nobody can see me when I’m rockin out, then how do they know it’s me? I tour with my own custom LED lighting rig. It makes my stage pop and more importantly me. Yes I’m a bit ego centric, but you need to be in order to make a mark in show business. You have to love the spotlight. I think you might as well have you own wherever you go. (via Color Kinetics)

If you are a beginner get this product. It’s totally cheap. This way you won’t blow your lawn mowing money learning that being a good DJ is more than playing music. It’s what you play, when you play it and how you play it that makes the difference between you and satellite radio. (via Numark)

It’s a monthly mag that reminds me how far ahead of the curve I am. Once and a while I catch a good article on the club circuit and artists who push the limits of what people expect a DJ to be. (via DJ Times Magazine)

Un-fucking believable is the only way to describe these gems of techno geek-ology. I can mix DVD music videos with many of the benefits of vinyl with a ton of great features. I can loop, tweak, remix and scratch a music video. I’m my own MTV and the kids love it! (via Pioneer)

NATIVE INSTRUMENTS: Traktor DJ Studio 3

Description
Hands down, it’s the best MP3 mixing software on the planet. I can mix and remix any style of music on the fly. However it doesn’t provide talent. You must have an ear for music and the ability to read your audience. That comes from over 18 years as a pro DJ. I started on Vinyl. Now I can mix and cut my MP3s using time coded records with an upgrade called Final Scratch. Anyone who still spins on analog records or even CDs is living in the dark ages as far as I’m concerned. I personally own over 4000 CDs. it’s the easiest way to rip and categorize my library. It integrates with my second favorite product. You could say they have a love affair. With me in the mix, it’s the closest I’ll probably come to a 3 way. (via Apple iTunes)
