Description
San Francisco-based textile designer Rosemary Hallgarten has created a gorgeous collection of alpaca throw pillows with fellow artisans from Peru. All of their pieces feature abstracts of natural elements, including vines, twigs and tulips. Hallgarten also has a line of New Zealand wool handhooked pillows, as well as alpaca and silk throws, available through mail order and retailers. Additionally, she makes rugs to order for the trade. A wooden bathtub manufactured by the French company Image was recently introduced in the US by P. S. Craftsmanship. Made from African Iroko wood, the bathtub is sealed with a patented synthetic resin that renders the wood waterproof and impervious to heat and cold. Once Erika Hansen’s innovative light fixtures are installed, they appear to be part of a wall, as if the flat surface had been gently pulled, pushed or punctured. Made from “recyclable”? wood pulp and illuminated by flourescent bulbs, they are designed to be embedded in gypsum board and can also work for ceilings.
