Creative Mark Aquacover Liquid Watercolor Paper

First to recommend

Description

Non-yellowing, non-cracking, liquid paper "patch." Comes in several "paper" colors including Arches bright white and natural white. It's meant for watercolorists but it's great to have on hand for fixing drawing boo-boos, too.

Strathmore 400 Series Drawing Paper Pads

First to recommend

Description

An inexpensive, off white, acid free drawing paper. The "regular" surface is a little rough, which makes it great for quick sketching. It erases well and accepts rich dark values easily.

Description

These lightweight drawing boards are great because they have a handle. Be sure to buy a replacement rubber band when you order. I lost my first band almost immediately.

Sakura Cordless Electric Eraser

First to recommend

Description

Expensive but wouldn’t want to draw without one. The tip spins and can be sharpened on sandpaper to a fine point. Textures, highlights, hair detail, and delicate backlighting are just a few things that can be “erased” with this lightweight tool.

Helix Automatic Cordless Eraser

First to recommend

Description

Not as ergonomically designed as others, but cheap! Electric erasers can be used to create all kinds of effects while drawing. I own and love a Sakura but have a Helix as a back up. Doesn’t fit the hand as well as the mighty little Sakura, but will do in a pinch.

General's Pencil Sav-A-Point

First to recommend

Description

A simple, cheap way to protect your pencil points. They are meant to fit over wooden pencils but they “stretch” a little and can be used on mechanical pencils too.

Creativo Messenger Bags

First to recommend

Description

Pockets everywhere and stiff backing. Super for carrying ALL of your drawing supplies with you. As a matter of fact, you can put so much stuff into one of these that it can get a little too heavy to carry comfortably. Small 14 x18 x3” - Large 20 x 25 x 3”.

Description

Archival ink in an inexpensive pen. Various sized tips. The more expensive pens are intimidating … this one is just fun to draw with.

Cretacolor Monolith Pencil Accessories

First to recommend

Description

Extender for your favorite pencils. Slip an extender over the end of even an extremely short pencil and it’s usable again. Lightweight and frugal.
