Tilley T3 Hat - Best Selling: Apparel
2 people recommended this item
Description
Tilly’s durable, stylish hats offer protection from the sun while keeping your head cool. As they are available in a variety of styles and weights, I have a Tilley for each season. My favorite is the LTM5, a fedora style hat (think Indiana Jones), with a mesh band in the crown to help keep things cool.
Tilley Hats are fitted; you measure your head using their guidelines and then order via the web. The best part is that they’re guaranteed for life. Tilley will replace any hat that wears out, shrinks or falls apart from use. (via Golf Blogger)

Callaway Golf Balls: HX Hot
First to recommend
Description
For the mid handicapper, no ball goes further, with more carry. And yet, this reasonably priced, three piece ball still offers good spin and feel around the greens. The secret is the unusual hex pattern that replaces the dimples found on other balls. The hexes keep the ball flying high, long and straight. The downside is that they’re not as easy to “work” as “players” balls. But if youre’ like me, all you are concerned with his hitting them long and straight. (via Golf Blogger)

Ecco Golf Shoes

Description
Sure, they cost more than the department store FootJoys, but you get what you pay for. Eccos are light and supple and more comfortable than any shoe I’ve ever worn – including non-golf shoes. I've literally walked a hundred rounds in my Eccos and they still look and feel nearly new. I liked the Ecco golf shoes so much that I’ve taken to wearing their street shoes also. (via Golf Blogger)

Sun Mountain Speed Cart

Description
Golf is a walking game, and you can take a load off your back with a three wheeled Speed Cart from Sun Mountain. Ergonomically designed and tough, with spoked, pneumatic wheels, Sun Mountain produces the Cadillac of golf carts. The cart has saved my back while still making it possible for me to walk three or more rounds a week. Last summer, I played 54 hole in a single day – all of them walking while pushing my Speed Cart.

The Plane Truth for Golfers
First to recommend
Description
The best golf instruction book available. Author Jim Hardy's premise is that there are two basic golf swings: the “One” and “Two” plane, and that trouble begins when elements of the one creep over to the other. Famous One Planers are Tiger Woods, Ben Hogan and Sam Snead; Two Planers include Vijay Singh, Tom Watson and Hale Irwin. Neither swing is necessarily better, but you’ve got to decide which one you’re gong to play.
Hardy also offers a book of drills and a DVD companion to the original book. All three are well worth having. (via Golf Blogger)

TaylorMade Golf Drivers
First to recommend
Description
TaylorMade drivers are number on Tour for a reason, and they've got one for every skill level. The trademark feature of most of the TaylorMade drivers is the movable weight system, which allows players to customize their ball flight by adjusting the club’s weighting. Shifting weight to the heel encourages a draw; toward the toe, a fade. Moving weight back helps get the ball up; forward keeps it down. The “quad” drivers and their weights offer literally hundreds of customizing options.
I currently play the R7 425, and also have a R5 TP. More recent offerings from the company include the R7 Superquad and the Burner.

Nick Hotchkiss Collection Ties

6 people recommended this item
Description
If you’ve got to wear a tie, you might as well wear one that proclaims your passion for golf. Nick Hotchkiss ties are beautifully designed, with patterns that pay tribute to sports, professions, politics, landmarks and more. What makes these different from the typical novelty tie is that the designs are subtle. At first glance they look like an abstract pattern; upon closer inspection you see the golf cart, the cognac snifter or the hedgehog (hedge fund tie).
My favorite is the “golf umbrella.” (via Golf Blogger)

Snake Eyes Viper Ti Driver Kit
First to recommend
Description
Impress your buddies by playing with a driver that you built yourself. Building a golf club is a relatively easy project; anyone with basic handyman skills can do it. The trick is in combining the right components: clubhead, shaft and grip. Fortunately for rank beginners, GolfSmith makes it easy with a variety of club kits. The Viper Ti 464 driver kit gives you a 460cc titanium clubhead with a movable weight system, a matched Proforce graphite shart, a velvet grip, ferrule (the plastic slip that goes above the clubhead and offers stability and reinforcement to the shaft) and a matching clubhead cover.
You’ll also need to get the clubmaking supply pack, which comes with the proper epoxy (superglue will NOT work), grip tape and solvent, a vise clamp and a step-by-step instructional DVD. (via Golf Blogger)

GigaGolf Clubs

Description
Bargain hunters can’t beat the price-quality ratio offered by GigaGolf, an online retailer of custom golf clubs. Using top quality components, GigaGolf will assemble a set of clubs to your specifications, adjusting grip types and grip sizes, shaft models and flexes, length, loft and lie. And they’ll do it for a fraction of the price of a name brand set. GigaGolf can do this because they are what is known in industry as a “smart follower”, using established technology rather than spending a fortune on research and development. Thus, what you get is last year’s technology. That’s not a bad thing, though, and GigaGolf is so confident that you’ll like their clubs that they offer a 30 day playability guarantee.
