This toy can sometimes be found in large stores like Wal-Mart, Target and TRU but it may have been discontinued so your best bet is an auction site if you want to purchase it online. This is was my girls' favorite toy as babies, all the way through their third year. The music is beautiful and the stars light up to the tempo of the songs. Unlike most baby toys that produce noise, this one actually produces sounds that won't make you want to rip your ears off and throw it at the offending object. (via Fisher-Price)

My daughters absolutely love this toy. They have fun putting all the animals in the correct place -- and adding new ones. Including the animal toys that come with the other Little People sets (because obtaining these things can become an obsession), my daughters' farm now houses sheep, chickens, cows, horses, reindeer, toucans, zebras, lions, tigers and bears oh my. One especially great thing about this toy is that the recommended age range is 1-5. In fact, my 6-year-old nephew even likes to play with it still.

Description
This is the best toddler table toy out there. There's a lot to do so the kids don't lose interest fast. Just a warning -- the tunes are catchy. You don't know how many times I've walked into a crowded elevator or a meeting singing "1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10" to myself, sometimes louder than I though. (via Amazon)

This is a discontinued toy but you can still pick it up from third-party sellers on Amazon or Ebay. The food is easy to scan and cute, and the sound is clear yet not too loud. I wish that the basket was bigger (look at all that extra space) but my girls have a lot of fun pretending to be Mommy at the store. (via Amazon)

Melissa and Doug Floor Puzzles

Description
My kids absolutely love these puzzles and so do I. They are beautiful, inexpensive, durable and the degree of difficulty is challenging yet not so much that toddlers can't put it together. We have the castle, ocean and United States puzzles and are looking to get more.
